Andes Riding will do everything possible to follow the indicated itinerary, although spot changes can occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Rides are subject to change depending on weather, location, and difficulty of the terrain. In the unlikely event that this happens on your trip, you are asked for flexibility and understanding. This is a sporty and adventurous vacation!

Day 1: Hotel - Vegas del Chano

Andes Riding will pick you up at your hotel and then move to Río Blanco, a town that is located about 1,250 m.a.s.l. in the Andes. Riding through an old dirt road, gain altitude slowly until you take a trail that will lead you through some forests of Quillayes and Maitenes. The journey will take you along a path of low Andean vegetation.

The sensation of height will be impressive from the moment you gain altitude and it gets wide open. Slowly, the vegetation will be left behind and the spectacular Andes mountain range will emerge. After five hours of riding, you will have arrived at Las Vegas del Chano, located at 2,600 m.a.s.l. In this beautiful green grassland, you will raise the camp. Spend the night in a tent and have a barbecue and a campfire.

Day 2: Vegas del Chano - Andean Lagoons

After a rewarding breakfast, start your great ride since today, a day of great action and beauty awaits you. Ascend through the Las Vegas del Chano creek; it is a narrow drawer with three steps with their respective breaks. The view from these heights is formidable. Once you reach the upper portezuelo, you have an unbeatable view of the Los Angeles Drawer and the entire Andean mountain range.

The descent of the slope begins where you will see some beautiful lagoons that reflect the Cerro Alto de Los Leones of 5,400, Nevado Juncal 6100 and other great mountains of the Cajón de Río Blanco. After a short break, restart a new ascent towards El Valle de Flores. To do this, you will overcome a steep path that leads to a narrow gate located at 4,200 meters high.

Once the step is over, begin the descent towards the beautiful Valley of Las Flores where a series of beautiful lagoons will appear that you will see from the top of the valley. After six hours of riding, descend again towards the lagoons. The camp awaits you and a well-deserved snack awaiting dinner.

Day 3: Valle de Flores (Active resting day)

Breakfast this time will be later than usual since today is an active rest day. After breakfast, freely start a tour of the lagoons of the surrounding sectors where you can make interesting Geomorphological and birdlife observations present in these sensitive ecosystems. Surely they will be part of the landscape; among others, El Piuquen (Chloephaga malenoptera), the Dormilona friar (Muscisaxicola flavinucha) or the magnificent king of the Andes, the Condor (Vultur gryphus).

In the middle of these lagoons, it will be interesting to travel and recognize a large area of rocks, worn with a slight inclination and a typical own brightness and scratches that denotes the passage of glaciers. This whole area is a formidable outdoor study area that tells you about the last vestiges of glaciers and that inevitably transports you to the great theme of climate change. The camp awaits you and a well-deserved snack awaiting dinner.

Day 4: Andean Lagoons - Vegas del Chano

After breakfast, begin the ascent towards the port of Valle de Flores and thus, return to Las Vegas del Chano. The landscapes this time will change, despite the fact that you will travel along the same outbound tracks. The perspective, however, will be different and will not cease to amaze you continuously. The camp awaits you and a well-deserved snack awaiting dinner.

Day 5: Vegas del Chano - Hotel

After a blunt breakfast, fix your equipment, the mules will be loaded to start the return at 11 a.m. The landscapes this time will change despite the fact that you will travel along the same outbound tracks. Return to Río Blanco at 4 in the afternoon. Arrive at Santiago or Valparaíso at Viña del Mar at 7 p.m.
