During your stay, you will spend two nights at Estancia Mercedes, in a room with private bathroom and wood heating, and four nights at Andes Riding's base camp, in double tents. Single tents are also available for a price supplement.

Note: Please note that single occupancy is available exclusively at the base camp. At the Estancia, single rooms are not available.

Day 1: Puerto Natales - Estancia

After meeting at your hotel, you will be transferred to Estancia Mercedes, located 35 kilometers from Puerto Natales, traveling the southern section of the Austral Highway. The transfer includes navigation by barge with a duration of seven minutes (or boat with outboard motor with a capacity of six passengers only on Saturdays and Sundays).

Arriving at Estancia, the family will welcome you with breakfast. After breakfast, there is a technical talk on bio-security and familiarization with your horse, more techniques for walking in aggressive environments, and managing the bond with tame animals.

You will be equipped with the "pilcheros" (freighter horse) with provisions, tools, and sleeping bags, with the chance to participate and learn in the process. A dinner is planned for this evening, followed by overnight at the Estancia, in a room with private bathroom and wood heating.

Days 2-5: Estancia - Base camp

After a country breakfast (which lasts for one hour) consisting of mate, bread dough, cheese, eggs, milk, coffee or tea, fruit, and cereals, you will saddle the horse (one hour) and depart for a tour of the sector, along with dogs and gauchos (five hours).

Every day, you will tour a different sector and have the opportunity to develop your skills as a baggage rider and apprentice. On each day, you will have a stop for a snack (lunch) outside the base camp. Then, you will return to the base camp and unsaddle the horses. You will leave them in the paddock so they can feed and rest.

At night, you will have dinner and then you will evaluate the day (how you connected with your horse, problems, experiences, observations, etc.). On the other hand, your physical state will be evaluated. At any time, you may decide to return to the camp or rest for one day and stay without going out to tour the field.

Days 6-7: Base camp - Estancia

You will enjoy a country breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Subsequently, the base camp is raised, the horses are saddled and armed with pilcheros (pack horses) to return to the farmhouse of Estancia.

When you arrive at the Estancia, you will be greeted with a delicious lunch or dinner, depending on the arrival time (which is relative since work with animals is unpredictable). During the meal, you can enjoy and relax, telling the anecdotes and experiences of Bagualeo. On the seventh day, you will have breakfast and leave for Puerto Natales.

Note: This itinerary is suitable for intermediate to experienced riders. You should be confident on a horse at all paces. The pace is varied to include walk, trot, and canter.
