Program

Program

During this riding holiday, you will get 12-hours of horse riding lessons. The lessons will be around flatwork, jumping, trekking, and cross-country. If you want to take a bit easier, you can go trekking around the 380-acre farm.

Cross-Country Lessons

You will have the chance to experience an extensive cross-country lesson of over 200 obstacles on the 380-acre (160-hectare) farm. This lesson will be available to guests who want to train to a very high-level in cross-country and Annaharvey Farm has the horses to suit. The lesson is designed by Sam Deverell who is an eventing Ireland cross-country designer. It ranges from simple logs for those who are only starting out at jumping, to an Intermediate Horse Trials event course.

The vast majority of riders will not aspire to compete at very high levels but, nevertheless, enjoy jumping cross-country. Therefore, a lot of small logs and simple jumps will be prepared for those who want to just have some fun.

Often, people will spend all their time training in an arena to show jump. However, the cross-country lesson will be an ideal way to do lots of diverse jumping, have plenty of fun, and learn some new ideas along the way.

Show Jumping Lessons

One of the main areas of expertise is show jump training. The horses are very well trained for all levels of rider. There are horses that will suit those who are only learning to jump and need a quiet safe steed, as well as more advanced horses to suit the more experienced rider. It is Annaharvey Farm's aim to improve the skills of the rider giving them the ability to ride with balance, confidence, and sympathy.

The Horses

Annaharvey Farm has an equestrian centre with about 40 horses.

  • The horses and cobs are a mixture of sports horse, Irish Draught, and Irish Cobs.
  • The horses are experienced at all levels from complete beginner to 2-star event standard.
  • The ponies are a mixture of Connemara and Irish pony.
