France Horse Jumping Training Program
A course to improve and perfect flatwork and jumping; enjoy flatwork and jump tuition in the morning and ride out in the afternoon to discover the beautiful surroundings. With a maximum of six riders per group, it is Centre Équestre le Marina's objective to achieve harmony between the rider and horse, whilst focusing on balance; they use a light contact, which is soft, straightforward, and most efficient for both.

Equestrian center’s guesthouse with “Chambres d’Hôtes”, swimming pool, and sauna (From Sunday to Sunday)
Situated two minutes by foot from the equestrian center and eight minutes by car from the beach, they offer:
- 1 guesthouse with four “Chambre d’hôtes" in front of the swimming pool offering single, double, twin, and a family suite with two bedrooms
- 1 wooden cottage dormitory with two bathrooms for six people beside the swimming pool
- 1 annex with three “ Chambres d’hôtes" for one to four people
- 1 sauna and 1 massage room
Every single bedroom has its own private bathroom.

Program
Centre Équestre le Marina really thinks that:
- There is no horse in balance and of clear, understandable, and coherent communication without a rider in perfect balance.
- There is no good jumping horse without good basic training!
- As there is no good jumping rider, without good knowledge of the mechanics, good understanding of the locomotion, and respect of the horse. Actually, the main part of this art is in the conduct between jumps and not the crossing of obstacles.
Then, understandable method, reliable training with simple, clear, light, and effective actions, putting the horse in a perfect attitude, and convenient to the easy crossing of various obstacles is the purpose of Centre Équestre le Marina's teaching; education to those who want, within the reach of every concentrated and applied rider, taking up completely ordinary horses.
09:00 - 12:00 In the morning
1) Improving the position of the rider: stand up position (standing with good balance) - Exercising the three basic paces/gaits on a flat ground; approaching and passing over the jump.
2) Search of harmony between horse and rider, learning to work on the control of the horse balance, concerning changes of direction, change of pace/gait, change of speed, and in accordance with the different types of jumps.
3) Exercises on the approach of jumps when using various trajectories - Working on different balance according to "Right or Oxer"; working on the choice-of-foot at the reception according to the direction you choose, working on flying changes of the leg when appropriate.
4) Jumping a course of eight to 10 jumps by the end of the training program.
16:00 - 19:00 In the afternoon
1) Relaxed outdoor riding in the forest or on the beach.
2) Practical exercises on the rider’s position combined with the practice of controlling the gaits/paces and direction when jumping natural fences and coping with changing ground.
The courses start on Monday at 9 a.m. for groups of one to four people. The time provided for riding is approximately four hours a day. In order to ensure complete participation in this program, riders are asked to be in excellent physical condition. It is possible to exchange the outdoor riding in the afternoon against more work in the arena.

Instructors
Michel Girard Mille
With 30 years of experience in teaching horse riding in harmony between horse and rider, Michel provides a huge experience of instructing the quality of the communication between horse and rider in dressage and show jumping. Showing up with successful own competing until the age of 45, he followed up with giving classes to his students who provided various placements at the national level (French championships). In love with his horses and nature, he is a guide who established itineraries with exceptional views and picknick spots in the region of Aquitaine, Perigord, Basque Mountains.

The Centre Équestre le Marina is located in Mimizan Bourg (Les Landes, New Aquitaine), in the southwest of France. It is ideally set in the heart of Europe’s largest pine forest, with the Atlantic ocean just a stone’s throw away. This program is proposed with two options: Half board already included in the price and full board with an extra charge. Meals are prepared and served at the guesthouse. Arrival by shuttle
There is a shuttle from the airport to the railway station in Bordeaux (13 EUR - 45 minutes). Then the client can find a train to Labouheyre (19 EUR - 50 minutes) and then an RDTL Bus from Labouheyre to Mimizan (11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.) all-year-round (3 EUR -40 minutes). Please arrive after 6:30 p.m. The riding school organises also a transfer from and to the airport every Sunday from two to 12 riders.
Arrival by train
The Bordeaux Morcenx train is always empty, if you are traveling alone, please wait the last minute to buy this train ticket at the railway station, to give the school time to find the opportunity to pick you up at Bordeaux if it’s possible.
Arrival by bus
As people are arriving from various destinations in Europe, the pick-up starts at 4 p.m. and the minibus leaves Bordeaux according to the timing of the last customer’s arrival. They drop people on the Sunday morning departure day according to the flight departure time of the first client.
Please plan the arrival time in Bordeaux at 4 p.m. or before, as much as possible, and plan the flight departure time from Bordeaux not before 12:30 p.m. or after. There is a two-hour drive between Mimizan and Bordeaux, departure at Mimizan at 8:30 a.m. means arrival at the airport at 11:30 for a flight of 1 p.m. (if check-in is 1:30 p.m. before!).
The costs for the transfer are 45 EUR for each way and 90 EUR for return trips per person. It also includes the transfer during the week to Mimizan Beach on Monday and Saturday. If the school gathers more than eight clients on the same transfer, they provide two mini-buses for the transfer. The price stays fixed.
