Accommodation

Accommodations are always located close to the castles you visit and combine the charm with comfort, including Chateau de Bellefontaine at Bayeux, Hotel de la Marine at Arromanches, Chateau de la Roque at Herbecrevon, Manoir de Brion at Dragey. Comfortable and refined twin / double rooms with private bathroom are waiting for you. A heated swimming pool often offers relaxation after the ride.

Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival at Chateau de Bellefontaine in Bayeux, there will be a briefing. You will enjoy dinner and stay overnight there.

Day 2: Bayeux - Creuilly

In the morning, there will be about two-hour horseback riding. You will begin the ride in the hilly landscape of Normandy. Upon your arrival on horseback in the old city of Creully, you will visit the Médieval Château de Creully from where BBC diffused news of Normandy battle in 1944 and the thirteenth-century church of Saint Martin for lunch in Creully.

At noon, there will be about two-hour horseback riding. You will ride in the Normandy countryside and arrive on horseback in the Medieval and eighteenth-century city of Bayeux. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Chateau de Bellefontaine in Bayeux.

Day 3: Bayeux - Arromanches

In the morning, you will visit Bayeux cathedral, the Medieval eighteenth-century center, the famous tapestry made in the eleventh century, and listed as a “Memory of the World” by UNESCO. At noon, there will be about two-hour horseback riding in the countryside, spectacular arrival with a panoramic view on Arromanches and his famous Mulberry port (canter on the beach if possible). Dinner and overnight stay will be at Hotel La Marine, with a wonderful view of the sea.

Day 4: Arromanches - Omaha beach

In the morning, you will enjoy about two hours and 30 minutes of horseback riding on the cliff and countryside with a view on the rests of the famous battery of second world war. Lunch will be in Port-en-Bessin-Huppain. Meanwhile, at noon, there will be about two hours on horseback. You will ride on the cliff and on the boulversante range of Omaha. You will visit the American military cemetery or Overlord museum. After that, you will be transferred by car to Château de la Roque near Saint Lo. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Château de la Roque.

Day 5 : Herbecrevon - Saint Lo

In the morning, you will ride about two hours along the La Vire river to Haras de Saint-Lo, the heart of famous Selle Français breed. You will visit the buildings and special clinics by a show jumping French rider if possible. At noon, there will be a two-hour ride along the river and countryside to Hébécrevon. After that, you will be transferred by car to Manoir de Brion in Mont Saint Michel Bay. Dinner will be in a typical local restaurant. You will stay overnight in Manoir de Brion.

Day 6: Mont Saint Michel

You will ride about four hours in the fabulous Mont Saint-Michel Bay followed by lunch in a local and typical creperie. You will enjoy gourmet dinner and stay overnight in Manoir de Brion.

Day 7

After breakfast, you will depart to your home country. Alternatively, you can also visit Le Mont Saint-Michel on your own. Transfer to Avranches or TGV Rennes station is not included.

Horses

The choice of the horses has been motivated, above all, by the strong desire to make you enjoy your trip in total safety. The horses are quiet and generous. Your treck companion is chosen for you according to your level, height, and weight.

Coaching

Excursions are coached by fully qualified and state-certificated staff. An assessment of your level and, if necessary, a quick test of your knowledge are organized on the first day.

Levels required

  • Strong intermediate: You ride different types of horses in all gaits. You can manage yourself and your horse are comfortable with riding in the terrain and enjoy a good canter or a fast gallop.
  • Experienced: You are a seasoned rider and ride different kinds of horses in all gaits. You can manage yourself and your horse and can do long days in the saddle. You master difficult terrain and enjoy a good canter and a fast gallop. You are physically fit and accustomed to even difficult trail rides.

Some advice

  • If possible, prior to your trip, please try to ride a horse three or four times to train your muscles for a long time on horseback.
  • Review your knowledge (tying knot, groom, saddle, adjust, and put the bridle).
  • During the ride, please pay attention to the given instructions, respect the schedule, keep reasonable distances from other riders, and enjoy yourself.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
