Copa De Arbol Beach and Rainforest Resort is an eco-luxury beachfront resort set among 70 acres of pristine rainforest reserve. It is located in Southern Pacific Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula, perfectly situated between Drake Bay and the Corcovado National Park in an area known as "Caletas" (small coves). Copa De Arbol features 10 cabinas (eight luxury and two deluxe), beachfront restaurant, and a full bar. This area of the Osa Peninsula is accessible by boat only and is one of the most remote and untouched places on Costa Rica’s entire Pacific coastline.

All of the rooms feature:

  • within 100 yards of the beach
  • ocean and rainforest views
  • balconies with seating areas
  • hardwood floors
  • pillow-top orthopedic mattresses
  • air conditioning and ceiling fans
  • tiled bathrooms with walk-in showers

Some of the rooms have features such as:

  • 2 stories
  • post construction and under-cabina decks with hammocks
  • extra large bathroom
  • Japanese style soak tub
  • extra large balconies

Additional resort features:

  • full-service beachfront, open air restaurant and bar
  • full range of tours and excursions that the Osa Peninsula has to offer
  • limited Wi-Fi in the public spaces
  • built using mostly eco-friendly recycled materials and reforested wood

This is an excellent choice for a family of four or two couples traveling together. These two cabins share a common wall and at times you may hear noise from your neighbor.

All four-person cabinas have a three-person minimum, unless all two-person cabinas are unavailable. Extra beds can be added to some of the rooms.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Most flights into Costa Rica fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). The airport is located 20 kilometers from central San Jose. Another international airport in Liberia is also an option and it is located further north in Guanacaste.

Depending on your arrival time to SJO, you may have to spend the night in San Jose and catch a connecting flight to Drake Bay the next day. If your flight arrives in the early morning you may be able to make a connecting flight the same day. Keep in mind that baggage, customs and immigration could take up to an hour or more (although it is usually quite fast).

Copa De Arbol Beach & Rainforest Resort can recommend a hotel for your overnight in San Jose as well as arrange a taxi to pick you up from your international flight.

  • Drake Bay Airport to Copa De Arbol: Pick up or drop off (taxi and boat) 40 USD per person each way
  • Palmar Sur Airport to Copa De Arbol: Pick up or drop off (taxi and boat) 120 USD per person each way (minimum two persons)
  • Sierpe to Copa De Arbol: Pick up or drop off (boat only) 95 USD per person each way (minimum two persons)

For your departure flight from Costa Rica, it is recommended that you arrive at the airport two hours prior to departure as you will have to pay the departure tax of 28 USD, verify paperwork, and deal with baggage inspection in addition to regular check-in procedures.
