In November I stayed with a couple of friends at Crossogue.
We had a marvelous stay for 6 days. The first days we trained on the Crossogue terrain (could not believe the space and different jumps we had in front of us). The horses were well kept and happy. They are outside in a herd the whole year. Ideal!
The training was also perfect. We really had the chance to build up our confidence (you know, the first day I walked around saying...I am never going to jump THAT!) and the next day I did (thank you Noel).
Mark and all the people at Crossogue made sure that we would not be short of food and comfort. The last day we joined a real Irish Hunt. This was also perfectly arranged and we were well prepared because of the training.
I would really recommend the experience!

Staying at Crossogue House was a really unique experience. From the moment I arrived at the station in nearby Thurles, Mark and the team made me feel like a member of the family. I really felt at home between the lovely dogs and cat wandering around to the hustle and bustle that comes from meeting new people and all the activity in the stables.
The room I stayed in was very comfortable and the views of the surrounding countryside were great. The food each day from breakfast (with homemade scones & jam) to dinner in the evening was perfectly cooked and presented and hit the spot after a couple of hours horse riding!
Getting the chance to groom my horse (Hudson) in the morning and lead him to the field in the evening was great and I learned so much with the help of the stable hands. I also got to experience doing cross country jumps for the first time and the instructor was very encouraging with a great sense of humour and helped get the best out of me each day.
I would really recommend Crossogue House to anyone that has an interest in horse riding and I hope to return again some time in the future.
I had high expectations before I had set off seeing all the good reviews on Trip Advisor, and I was not disappointed. I was wowed.
First and foremost, it was important for me to be able to ride good horses in a beautiful country side. Both were definitely fulfilled. I rode two horses both of which were good-natured and willing, and the scenery was just absolutely stunning.
For the rest: All the wonderful things have been already said here but if I could add something, it is the genuineness of the staff that stood out for me. Noel and Maike are great instructors who take their job seriously (with a great sense of humor). Jen and everyone in the kitchen were so warm and welcoming. Mark was an excellent host who passionately made sure that everyone was happy. Overall, you could feel that the place was run by a team with great collegiality. I can't wait to go back!
