Crossogue Equestrian Horse Riding Holiday Ireland Program

On this summer camp, as well as improving riding skills, younger guests also get to make new friends, enjoy safe independence away from home and, of course, have fun! Each year, Crossogue Equestrian accepts young guests aged 11 - 18 years old and you can be assured they will receive expert instruction that is carefully tailored to match their ability. Crossogue Equestrian has excellent horses and ponies for all levels of rider and each guest has their own for the duration of their stay. This gives them the chance to nurture a bond and the confidence to develop their riding skills.

A typical day

Guests are having their breakfast by 09:00, before being ready to be in the yard by 10:00. They collect their horses and are supervised as they prepare them for the morning ride. Each ride is approximately one and a half hours in duration and they are rotated between the arena, country hacks, and cross country sessions. All riders are in groups of similar ability and goals are set for each individual during their stay.

The midday meal is at 13:00 and this is followed by English tuition for those who are participating. Everyone is back in the yard at 15:15 for the afternoon ride. Following the ride, the horses are returned to the fields and guests have free time to do alternative activities and shower before dinner at 19:30. After dinner, there is time for more activities and the film if they wish before lights out.

English tuition

Crossogue Equestrian has a team of qualified English teachers who will provide English tuition to those who wish to participate for one and a half hours each weekday. Guests are divided into groups of similar ability and work on making each lesson both interesting and challenging. Crossogue Equestrian holds the lessons in different locations in the house, surrounding grounds and around the farm! Crossogue Equestrian want to break the conventional classroom mould to get attention when they can. If there are specific requirements in this area, please let Crossogue Equestrian know.

Additional notes

Crossogue Equestrian runs a national cross country on the 26 of August. The kids that wish to compete will get special training for that event during the previous 2/3 weeks camp. Please send an inquiry to Crossogue Equestrian for more information.
