Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Arrive at Cairo airport where your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel. Relax until dinner time. Then meet the team from Desert Dreams and your travel partners. Enjoy your local meal with a great view of the Pyramids. One of the most iconic and awe-inspiring sights in the world. Standing tall in the desert sands. These ancient structures have fascinated and captivated people for thousands of years. Tomorrow morning’s adventure will take us to have a close look at it from a back of a horse.
Day 2: Cairo

Try some local dishes in the morning, have your coffee/tea then get ready for a riding adventure. Your driver will take you to a stable where you will meet the horses for your trip. You will be riding mixed Arabians and local breeds. These horses are known for their courage, power, and intelligence, so easy to fall in love with them. There are so many great stories about how these horses were loyal to their owner.
Horses were so important to the Bedouins; they kept the mares in their tents which explains why these horses connect with humans on a different level.
Ride along the ancient land, and admire the view of the Pyramids. Take fascinating photos, race in the desert, and experience the joy of this trip. After your ride, you will take you back to your hotel where you can freshen up, have your lunch, then get ready for the afternoon tour. It is time for you to discover some antiquities from the olden time in Cairo Museum, your private guide will accompany you for this wonderful expedition. You will discover some important collections from ancient years. Later, get a glimpse of the old town of Cairo. Celebrate this full day with flavorful Egyptian dishes. Wonder about the greatest mystery on the planet while looking at the Pyramids in the night light.
The Giza Pyramid is the largest Egyptian Pyramid, it was made for Pharaoh Khufu from the 4th dynasty around 2550 B.C. The Pharaohs expected to become Gods in their afterlife, therefore they built temples and royal burial grounds for themselves. The 2nd Pyramid of the Giza complex was created by Khufu's son Khafre. His necropolis also included the Sphinx, is a creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The 3rd one was built by Pharaoh Menkaure.
Day 3: Arrival in Fayoum

- Transfer to Fayoum
- Full-day Jeep Safari to Wadi El Hitan.
- Camping
Wake up to a lovely morning, and try some local food for breakfast before the adventure begins. We will make our way to Fayoum. We are going to drive into the desert, be ready for a full-day desert tour by a 4x4 vehicle. During the day visit Wadi Al Hitan also known as the Valley of the Whales. This is an incredible open-air museum for whale fossils. This area used to be underwater 40 million years ago. After spending some time here and discovering some museum pieces, we will drive to Magic Lake, the water is surrounded by sand dunes. Take off your shoes and let your bare feet touch the warm soft sand. Lunch will be served in the desert. A full day of beautiful landscapes. Also, great fun driving over big sand dunes while driving to your night camp, here you will spend the night enjoying your meal. Watch the sun go to sleep. Sunsets are special already, but have you seen one in Egypt? You can sense the magic around you when it happens. Relax by the fire, allow yourself to disconnect, and watch out for shooing starts. Stargazing is a way of discovering ancient
methods of navigation. There is a unique sense of peace at night. Drift off to sleep to the sound of burning embers.
Day 4: Fayoum

- Pottery factory visit.
- Horse riding (2 hours).
- Accommodation in Fayoum.
Get up to the sound of dawn, have your tasty breakfast, and drive back to Fayoum where we are going to stay in an authentic guesthouse. Upon arrival you will understand the welcome of the Arabic people, they will make you feel like you are at home, and you will never get hungry or not drink enough tea. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake and the desert. Your hosts will spoil you with gorgeously plated dishes. When our lunch break is finished, we are going to visit a pottery factory run by a family, here you can see and practice how to make plates, mugs, and decorations from clay. Later on the afternoon we will saddle up and ride around the village. Closing of this day will be a delicious dinner at your guesthouse.
Day 5: Fayoum

- Transfer back to Fayoum
- Horse riding around Magic Lake (4 hours)
- Accommodation in a guesthouse.
Another delightful morning. The sun has risen slowly on the endless desert. What a view while enjoying your breakfast. Get ready to drive back to Fayoum, on the way back you have one more chance to catch sight of the beautiful area and swim in the lake. Lunch will be served at the guesthouse, then the riding adventure begins. Ride through the village, there are beautiful paintings on the houses, and local people living their daily life, catch a glimpse of the village life. Take the road to the desert where strong palm trees make the land look finer. Watch a beautiful sunset as it melts across the horizon. Fall in love with the colors of sundown. Return back from the tour and have your dinner with spices used in the traditional cuisine of Egypt.
Day 6: Fayoum/Cairo

- Full-day horse riding (5 - 6 hours) in the desert of Fayoum
- Transfer back to Cairo
- Accommodation close to Giza Pyramids
Enjoy your breakfast in your authentic guesthouse. Listen to the bird song, and feel the air warming up slowly as the sun wakes up. After a beautiful morning get into your riding gears to conquer the desert. This ride will be a special one to remember! Spend the day in the dunes enjoy your lunch break with spectacular views, then race with your horses while the sun sets. After the breathtaking scenery you have encountered during your ride, you will make your way back to Cairo and have dinner.
Day 7: Cairo departure

- Transfer to the airport (not included)
Wake up for the view of the Pyramids. Enjoy your Egyptian breakfast with the sight of the olden time before checking out.
As you say goodbye to Egypt, remember the new friendships you’ve made and the cultural experiences that have enriched your life. Take a moment to look back on your photographs and souvenirs, which will remind you of the incredible adventures you’ve had. Hopefully, they will see you for another adventure.
Difficulty level
The holidays are designed for intermediate and advanced riders, however, Desert Dreams can adjust the program for beginner riders (fewer hours in the saddle with a private guide), but this has to be confirmed prior to booking.
