The Marwar Festival spans two days and is filled with traditional dancing, singing, crafts and polo.

Marwar Festival Ride Itinerary

Day 1: Friday, 14th October 2022

Arrive in Jodhpur airport, drive to Naguar (3 hours drive). Meet the horses at Nagaur Fort and go for an initial acclimatization ride within the enormous fort. Overnight at Nagaur Fort, a huge traditional Rajasthani fort that is full of elaborately painted murals, intricate Rajasthani interior design, and steeped in history.

Day 2: Saturday, 15th October 2022

At 9 am, mount the horses who are already ready and tacked up in the Dundlod Safari’s ‘Risala,’ meaning cavalry, tack colors. Ride out of this magnificent fort into the surrounding Thar Desert. Rajasthan offers excellent riding terrain, full of sandy stretches perfect for long fast canters. The Marwari breed is naturally forward-going and spirited. The canters are fast and thrilling!

You will stop in a shady spot for lunch and a 2-hour rest so the horses can eat, drink and rest before continuing the afternoon leg of the ride. Ride overnight to the evening's camp. The campsites are already set up, with the huge Dundlod Safari’s tents that accommodate two single beds with full linen and ample room to stand and move about.

There will be local Dussehra festivities happening, which celebrate the coming back of Lord Ram after 14 years of exile. Spend the evening having dinner and drinks around the campsite. Dinner is local Rajasthani food which is usually a delicious curry, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes on offer.

Day 3: Sunday, 16th October 2022

After a western breakfast of eggs, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea or local Indian chai, you set off on the ride.
