Discover the amazing nature and learn about the "Gaucho" by horse. Imagine yourself riding deep into the wetlands where the sunset catches you by surprise among the palm trees and the sound of the birds returning to their nests. The diversity of the scenery, quiet horses that are used to the marshes, and skilled naturalist guides are the keys to the excellence of this horse trekking. So come and get ready to have fun.
You'll be accommodated in a double, triple, or quadruple room at Ecoposada del Estero located in Ibera Wetlands. It is internationally recognized for its scenic beauty and the biodiversity of its ecosystems. Determined to preserve this wonderful environment, the Ecoposada del Estero ecolodge has been built following the principles of "sustainable construction" and "ecological architecture": use of the local resources and materials, respect for the environment, efficient use of energy and water, and use of renewable energy.
It was designed by professors of the University of Corrientes with the traditional "Corrientes" local style. The choice of materials and construction processes are intimately related to the landscape, the climate, and local cultural traditions.
The rooms have been decorated in the traditional rustic style. Each module has two rooms for up to three or four passengers each. They have private bathroom, divan beds, ceiling fan, and electric heating and individual wooden balcony with hanging hammocks which overlooks the marshland. There is also a room adapted for disabled guests.
All these special features make the Ecoposada del Estero unique in the area. It is comfortable and bright, with adobe walls, wood on the roof and rustic gaucho decoration.
The restaurant sector has a living room with fireplace, plasma TV with satellite and DVD library of culture and nature. There is a a library with several books to be used by the guest as well as a WiFi area for laptop use. The gallery has a panoramic terrace and hammocks hanging which invites you to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Every corner is different, spacious, exclusive, and welcoming. This sector is also used to frequent courses and meetings organized in the Ecoposada.
The Ecoposada del Estero is staffed exclusively by their owners. The goal is that you feel at home, the warmth of the place accompanied by friendly service, simplicity and flexibility are the cornerstones of our services. The idea is to help the conservation and care of wildlife by spreading knowledge and love of nature.
The menu is based on delicious homemade food, pastries and bakery artisan food, jams and marmalades homemade with seasonal fruits.They also offer delicious meat to grill. Vegetables from local organic gardens and special meals for celiacs and vegetarians. In the hottest days you can taste delicious regional dishes at the restaurant terrace, enjoying an exceptional view of the tidelands, native forest and incredible sunsets.
The Ecoposada covers four meals: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. Lunch and dinner consist of a starter, main course, and dessert. The goal is to provide simple and natural dishes that incorporate elements typical local custom. Many of the recipes are from the grandmothers.
To prepare dishes using natural products of the colony is prioritized. The steaks are from animals grown on their own field and come from animals raised in freedom. Organic vegetables are produced by locals. Flank steak stuffed with tomato or vegetable cakes or pancake tower or Vitel tone, etc. whet the appetite. Follow main dishes like mustard chicken cubed vegetables, ravioli stuffed with quibebe (vegetables), meat baked with creamed potatoes, grilled chicken breast with lemon, etc. which complement to balance a good diet. There are always homemade baked bread sticks and drinks to please the guest. To top off the meal, something sweet: cakes or fruit salad or homemade desserts, etc. The menu is fixed with a simple alternative option failing. The kitchen also serves the needs of vegetarians, celiacs or those who must follow specific diets. In all these cases, please let the organizer know in advance to better meet your wishes.
Iberá Expeditions is part of Ecoposada del Estero complex and has two decades of experience in organizing excursions, walks and expeditions in the area of the Ibera Natural Reserve. This ensures personalized attention by pioneers guides Ibera, as the most varied reserve offers to enjoy in all its facets. Your guides have been trained by the most prestigious naturalists of the country as Marcelo Canevari, Francisco Erize, Ricardo Camiña, Carlos Fernandez Balboa, Claudio Bertonatti, Luis Delvenne, Edward Shaw, Norberto Bolzon, among others. They also have their own Private Nature Reserve Wildlife in the Estero de Camba Trapo.
