Your lodgings will be at quaint AirBNB just a short walk from the ranch house. The two-story house is nestled on a juniper and pine tree ridge overlooking the valley below. Decorated in a rustic and eclectic southwest style, it offers three bedrooms, two and a quarter baths, a shared kitchen, and a common room. Free WiFi and access to laundry service. The area is landscaped for relaxation. Wooded paths lead to reading nooks, hammocks for naps, meditation alcoves, and quiet spaces for yoga.
The hot tub is available year-round, and the pool is open during the summer. The property is teeming with vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and berry bushes just ripe for the picking. Bicycles are available for further exploration. The area is conveniently located close to golf courses, hiking and mountain biking trails, ski areas, and the river.

Riding for a cause
While Enchantment Equitreks is dedicated to providing you with an amazing experience, they are also committed to healing their horse community. All of the ranch horses are originally from a rescue and have been expertly re-trained as experienced trail horses. They continue their work with the rescues through their foster program.
Horse riding
Unlike many outfitters who ride in the same area, Enchantment Equitreks takes advantage of New Mexico's diverse landscapes and terrain by trailering out to a new trail each day. They load horses, tack, picnic, and clients and drive 20-45 minutes to the riding destination.
Some days, you will be galloping through the sandy arroyos of a painted desert. The next day, you will scale alpine forests and Enchantment Equitreks loves to splash through the waters of the Rio Grande river. You do not camp out in these places but return back to the ranch where a hot shower, a hearty meal, and a soft bed awaits.
Itinerary
Day 1
- Arrival and settle in. Time permitting a short ride from the ranch.
Day 2
- 7 am Breakfast at the main house.
- 9 am Departure from ranch to ride.
- 10 am In the saddle. Ride 2-3 hours, with snacks on trail.
- 2 pm Lunch at the ranch.
- 3 - 7 Free time (swimming, hiking, napping, yoga)
- 7 Dinner
Day 3
- 6 am Departure from the ranch to ride.
- 7 am In the saddle. Ride 3-4 hours. 30 min break for breakfast on trail.
- 12 pm Lunch at the trailhead.
- 1 pm Drive back to the ranch.
- 2-6pm Free time and possibly visit Walking In Circles Rescue.
- 6 pm Dinner
Day 4
- 8 am Breakfast at the main house.
- 9 am Departure to ride.
- 10 am In the saddle. Ride for 2 hours
- 12 pm - Lunch on trail.
- 1 pm - Ride 1 ½ hours
- 3 pm Back at the ranch.
- 3-7 pm Free time
- 7 Farewell Dinner

Horse riding requirements
Safety is our number one priority. We are not a nose to tail dude ranch but an equine adventure business. All of our horses have been trained in trail riding skills and manners; however, they do have a mind of their own.
To thoroughly enjoy your stay we require that your riding ability be at an intermediate level due to the terrain and lengths of our rides. We ask all riders to be comfortable at a walk, posting trot, and strong canter on trail with in a group, as well as mount/dismount the horse unassisted. Riders do need to be physically fit enough to be in the saddle 3-4 hours, 10-15 miles a day.
If you do not feel that you meet this criteria or do not ride regularly, but are still interested, we strongly suggest riding lessons. This will help you to be more confident and comfortable in the saddle. We will give riding tips and suggestions on trail to keep you safe, however we do not give riding lessons.
Horses
While we are dedicated to providing you with an amazing experience, we are also committed to healing our horse community. All of our ranch horses are originally from a rescue and have been expertly re-trained as experienced trail horses. We continue our work with the rescues through our foster program.
We prescribe to a natural training method, a philosophy of working with horses based on the horse’s natural instincts and methods of communication, with the understanding that horses learn from pressure and the release of pressure. We believe that spending ample time with the horse to gain their trust is paramount in turning these animals around. Many of our horses come to the rescue not only with malnourished bodies but broken spirits. Our program concentrates on slowly rebuilding the horse physically and mentally through a relationship built on trust, respect, and understanding. Our core ranch horses have been through our training program and have blossomed into healthy and happy horses who love their job. The Foster Program allows us to reach even more animals who need a second chance, a little time, and a lot of compassion.
Our horses range from 14 -16.2 hands tall, 7-30 years old. The breeds range from Quarter Horse, Paints, Appaloosa, Thoroughbred, and grade.
Instructors
Justyn Vogel
As co-owner and outfitter of Enchantment Equitreks, Justyn has blended her passion for horses and yoga in the EquiYoga program. After practicing for 15 years, she received her teacher training at Indi Yoga Studio in 2017. Trained in a Vinyasa and Yin style that focuses function over form, Justyn leads classes focused on rider release and body awareness. Her classes embrace those new to yoga and practicing yogis. She will take you from mat, to saddle, to trail with sessions designed to create awareness of the asana and horsemanship connection.

The meals not only showcase this local flavor, but the ingredients are plucked straight from Enchantment Equitreks' gardens, local farms, and ranches.
Each morning, you will be greeted with a European-style breakfast set out in the guesthouse or patio. Lunches will often be picnics during the day's ride. The evenings will be filled with sit-down, family-style dinners, relaxing next to a fire, and gazing out at the stars. They are able to accommodate many food restrictions and allergies for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free menus.

Whether you would like to add an excursion to your visit or look for an adventure for a non-riding partner, mountain, stream, and trail adventures offer biking, hiking, SUP, kayaking, and snowshoeing.
Enchantment Equitreks can coordinate a morning ride along the banks of the Rio Grande and an afternoon kayak or SUP in rivers red waters. Non-riding partners can also paddle along the river, watching you ride along its banks and meeting for a picnic lunch.

The Balloon Fiesta
Every October people from all over the world come to New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, one of the most photographed events in the world. With the Sandia Mountains looming above the valley and the river winding below, the hot air balloons have a perfect backdrop to fill the sky. We are the only outfitter that takes our clients riding with these picturesque globes floating overhead. We often catch them making a splash and dash in the river! Each day will be planned for optimum balloon viewing and mild terrain so that you can take as many pictures as possible. You will get up close and personal with these inflated airships when we spend the morning helping our friends at the fiesta blowing up and launching their balloon. The afternoon will be spent amongst the wide variety of vendors with local foods and arts and crafts. Don't miss a unique way to experience this amazing event!
