Enjoy a week’s riding experience in the unspoiled countryside of Ademuz, Spain! You will form part of the training program for the competition horses, riding between two to four hours a day in a variety of routes, training sessions, and paces. Endurance365 will adapt the week’s program according to your needs, with respect to the type of riding, the horse chosen, and the sharing of your experience of the discipline of Endurance.
This charming 18th-century house is located next to the town square. Although renovated, it has kept much of its original charm. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with high ceilings, Juliette balconies, and private bathrooms. There are a total of seven rooms in this family-run guesthouse where home cooking and hospitality from the hosts is a top priority, regardless of the time of day!
If you are new to Endurance, it is hoped that you will return home with a desire to start in this unique discipline. By the end of your stay, Enduracne365 knows that you will have enjoyed the experience of "galloping" through the amazing trails of Ademuz. Endurance 365 is for you if you are:
On your arrival, you will meet the team and horses. Depending on the time of your arrival, you might ride for a brief period for Endurance365's monitors to assess your riding and best select a horse or horses for you.
After grooming and tacking up your assigned horse, you will do a gentle ride for two to three hours, giving you time to get to know your horse and enjoy the variety of local landscapes, and for Endurance365 to know you better. On arrival back to the stables, you will untack and clean your horse before putting them out to their paddock. After lunch, there will be a briefing about the program for the rest of the week and a tour of the town.
A more intensive day of training and working the horse in different paces. Training for the horse will focus on building conditioning and testing the rider's ability to maintain rhythm at different speeds. The afternoon’s activity can be selected from a variety of informative tours based on local culture or cuisine.
Today will be the longest ride, taking a slower pace across different routes to further explore the surrounding area and build a partnership between horse and rider. A lunch stop will happen on the route. After arrival back to Ademuz and cleaning down the horses, you will have time to relax before the evening meal and a time to have an open panel discussion with the Endurance365 team about endurance, competitions, and horse and rider preparation.
Today will perhaps the shortest day in terms of riding with a more intensive training session for the horse. The afternoon’s activity can be selected from a variety of informative tours based on local culture or cuisine.
The last day will test your cohesion with your horse and be a 30 to 40-kilometer ride at the pace of an endurance competition.
Farewells and departure.
Jackie will be your host and guide for this holiday.
El Rincón de Ademúz is a curious Valencian enclave, linked to the province of Valencia only by the Turia river, connecting Ademuz to the Valencian capital. It is a charming area and one of the most beautiful natural sites in the Valencian Community, nestled between the provinces of Cuenca and Teruel.
The territory is rugged with huge contrasts between mountains and hills, deciduous and pine forests, and fertile valleys filled with fields and renowned apple orchards. Ademuz, the capital of the region, is built on a hillside, with the Turia river skirting its base. It dates back to the 13th century and is a mix of old and new.
Starting with the castle on the hill, the town cascades downward, evolving from small dwellings into more modern, free-standing buildings. During your time in Ademuz, you will stay in one of the guesthouses nestled in the older part of the town, surrounded by opportunities to experience the local cuisine. The stables are conveniently located only a short five-minute walk from the town, next to the river.
All meals are included in the package. You will be served local home cooked traditional meals and a continental breakfast, using a variety of local produce.
Breakfast will be providing in your accommodation. The location of lunch and evening meals will vary according to the days program, from a picnic lunch to a full three course meal in the local hotel.
