14 Day ESI Youth Riders Camp in Flevoland

Alikruikweg 33, 8256 RK Biddinghuizen, Nethelands

Children's Equestrian Camp in the Netherlands

A great time and a valuable learning experience go hand in hand! In this action-packed week full of adventure, the children will learn about everything that has to do with horses. It's jam-packed with fun and horse-related activities such as training sessions, workshops, horse games, excursions, and sightseeing. Equine Support International's experience with children is that they can learn a great deal from working with horses. Through riding lessons, excursions and workshops, the kids learn the skills needed to be a great equestrian. They learn about cooperation, safety and gain a whole lot of confidence. As a result, they'll ride (and live) like little champs!

Program

There will be experienced Equine Support International trainers and staffs present for supervision, however, there are options for your own leisure time. The staff are trained and educated to adapt to every rider’s needs and to fit the variety of ages and levels of experience of the individuals taking part in the program. The atmosphere is friendly and safe, allowing riders to concentrate and focus or simply enjoy their hobby. Equine Support International wants you to get the most out of your four-legged-partner and more importantly that your horse gets the best from you.

Example of a day

Early morning: Riding lessons

Jumping, dressage, cross-country, pony games or a hack.

Late morning: Workshop "How to lunge my horse?"

This covers all aspects of lunging (both theoretically and practically), how to incorporate it into your training schedule, how to handle horses who are not cooperating etc.

Afternoon: Excursion to a veterinary clinic

You will receive a tour by a veterinary specialist and get the opportunity to see and learn about the cases being handled in the clinic at the time.

Evening

Campfire with marshmallows, guitar, singing, and stories.

Age restriction

  • Minimum age allowed for participation 8
  • Maximum age allowed for participation 18

The horses

Every child is matched with a horse or pony for the entire program allowing them to connect and progress together. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, the arena has the right match for you.

Over 40 different horses and ponies - jumping and dressage - are stabled at the equestrian center so for each child we have a furry friend that is compatible with the rider's personality, age and level. This ensures success for both rider and horse!

"The stars of the show"

For children who like to ride different horses, there is enough variation. The horses have different personalities, from bombproof to energetic. Riding different horses will help improve confidence and control.

Equine Support International believes in teaching true horsemanship skills so children will groom and tack up their horses themselves. There are workshops in which the children will learn to take care of their own horses in a safe environment.
