French Riding Holidays has personally selected all the accommodation to provide comfort with warmth and ambiance whilst retaining the French culture. Your accommodation is comfortable and informal. No need to bring any towels or bed linen as French Riding Holidays provides all you need for your stay. All rooms have en-suite facilities. French Riding Holidays can also provide hairdryers, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and most other things that you might have forgotten.

The traditional gite

French Riding Holidays has a comfortable clean accommodation in a traditional gite, decorated in French country style. It has a family room which is a double with an adjacent twin room, plus three more twin rooms in the gite. French Riding Holidays also has two more twin rooms in the farmhouse. All rooms have en-suite facilities. The communal sitting and dining areas are warmed by a log fire on cool evenings. You can also dine on the sun terraces during the summer. Plenty of off-road parking is available.

Pool area

The stunning view from the pool area spans across the valley. The swimming pool is approximately 10 meters x five meters surrounded by a tiled terrace with sun loungers and patio furniture. The outdoor facilities also include a shower, WC, utility area, and a spit roast for those special occasions.

The holiday is customized depending on weather and guests but do come and enjoy. It is your holiday so French Riding Holidays can help you ride as much as you would like. If the ground is safe then it is possible to go down the trekking course, the cross country, and the show jumping paddock. French Riding Holidays has plenty of rides out from the gite, of course. During the week, you will enjoy some lovely riding sessions and celebratory food and drinks back at the gite in front of the log fire.

French Riding Holidays has a range of beautiful horses to suit your individual requirements, ranging from the English thoroughbred to the calm and sure-footed mountain horse. On-site, French Riding Holidays also has a well-equipped jumping paddock which you are welcome to use. The riding here is magnificent. French Riding Holidays has a lot of woodland, open countryside, river valleys, and some of the most beautiful villages in France canters along the many paths and open fields.

A typical day's riding would comprise of between two or three hours' ride in the morning, back to the gite for a home-cooked lunch, and then a few more hours riding in the afternoon. For the day rides, go a bit further afield with a break for a gourmet picnic lunch with home-cooked food using fresh local produce and regional wines. Horses and riders refreshed, you continue your ride, returning to the gite for a beer or glass of wine and a dip in the pool.

French Riding Holidays has a cross-country course on the grounds of the woodland valley. The course consists of 11 jumps from fallen logs, water jumps, and higher obstacles for those that would like to try it out. In addition, French Riding Holidays also has some TREC (Techniques de Randonnee Equestre Competition) obstacles, similar to Handy Pony, so you can try the S bend, neck rein through the figure of eight, and open and shut the gate, to name a few. It really helps teach you to control your horse and is great fun.

On New Year's Eve, you will enjoy a gourmet dinner with canapes and fine wines. Fireworks and champagne will accompany you at midnight along with music and dancing. The themed fancy dress is not compulsory. On New Year's day, you will enjoy Hair of the Dog (Buck's Fizz and a late-cooked breakfast) and one later morning ride.

The Mas de Clamouze in Asprières, Aveyron, France offers peace and tranquillity and there is a definite sense of calm. Sitting on the terrace in the evening watching the sunset over the valley can only be described as paradise. The beautiful Aveyronese countryside has enchanting villages, unspoiled woodland, river valleys and gorges, and rolling plains. The area has an abundance of wildlife and French Riding Holidays regularly spots deer, wild boar, dormice, red squirrel, hares, buzzards, and kites.
