The beyond luxury yurts, each one placed on a little hill, look like traditional nomadic tents but once you enter, you'll experience a very open and light-full interior on three levels. A double bed, floating in the center, right under a glass dome which makes one sleep under the starry sky, is on the highest level.

The sitting area, the lowest level, merges with surrounding nature through big windows and doors opening to a terrace overlooking the endless steppe. An open bathroom on the mid-level makes one feel taking his bath in the middle of the meadows next to the grassing horses. All amenities needed are provided like underfloor heating, air conditioning, coffee/tea maker, satellite television sets, mini bar, toiletries, etc.

Program

Homoki Ride Limited is exclusively designed for intermediate riders or advanced riders who love horse riding and like to stay in places that are in sync with nature, without compromising too much on comfort. In order to not be hindered by a big group of participants, the maximum number of riders is limited to four participants.

All equines are tested for riding safety by the Hungarian Horse Tourism Board and are eager to explore this untrodden rural idyll of open-wide meadows, sandy tracks, and mystic forests with you. Feel the endless freedom of no fences or limits on the back of your horse. Immerse with the sounds, the colors, and smells of nature, far off-the-beaten-tracks, and experience the serenity of an exceptional spot on the Hungarian countryside.

Day 1: Arrival Day

If the transfer is part of the package, you shall be met by the driver at the airport or at the arranged meeting point; this one and a half to two-hour trip leads through the Hungarian Southern Great Plain. You will be welcomed with a Hungarian sparkling wine. You will be introduced to the accommodation at Homoki Yurt Glamping Ground. Meet the freely kept horses on the pastures and the animal husbandry with Mangalicza pigs, Racka sheep, and the guard geese. In the late afternoon, you might explore the resort and the nearby surrounding by riding a Fat Tire Bike (included in the package price).

Dinner is served with a three-course menu or a degustation menu consisting of five courses, pairing wine option is offered at the Homoki Fine Dine restaurant and will be prepared by a Dining Guide awarded chef (3 course menu from Euro 24, not included in the package price).

The tour will pass near well-kept crops and fruit orchards, following the border of the surrounding farmsteads until you reach a typical Hungarian village in the Puszta Plains of Hungary. Learn about its population and how they build their homes and yards; see happy pecking chickens in their gardens with crops of vegetables.

The guide will show you the infrastructure like the school, majors house, church, and the park. Have a lunch break at the Presszo where they prepare the most gigantic hamburgers, Hungarian style (drinks and lunch included). On the way back, whether to travel through the poplar forests with shade or for the ones who adore the sun cross via the nearby plains.

Location

Homoki Lodge is nestled in the south of Budapest in the Hungarian Southern Great Plains, a low sandy basin between the Danube and Tisza Rivers. Small farmsteads litter the plains interspersed with forests, fruit orchards, shallow lakes, and meadows. The flat land is crisscrossed by a myriad of sandy tracks and fields of maize, crops of peppers, and sunflowers suddenly followed by peach trees or an acacia forest. Highlights are the grasslands where the sky is touching the ground; a preserved home to wild game, birds, and rare plants!
