Daily itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Patagonia

Finally the day, you were waiting for has arrived, the beginning of this amazing journey. A private transfer will be waiting to pick you up at the Puerto Natales airport and take you to the ranch in Hotel 3 Pasos. After you have settled at the hotel, you will meet for a briefing and a quick overview of the trip. A trip to the barn to meet the horses and have your first connection activity. You will spend time with the horses and ride briefly just to get to know each other.

  • Includes: airport pick-up, horse connection activity, dinner, and lodging in Hotel 3 Pasos

Day 2: The journey begins

After breakfast, you will gather the horses and get them ready. You will also have the chance to experience the cold of Patagonia and have the chance to walk, trot, or canter depending on the riding experience. Riding through lakes and forests, you will find a nice place to have your little picnic and continue to the next ranch.

You will arrive at Cerro Castillo and take care of your horses. It is optional to help feed them and put them away in their resting pen for the night. You will get settled in your hotel rooms. You will enjoy a lovely dinner and some dynamics to get the conversation going. Finally, you are off to rest for the night.

  • Riding time: 5 hours
  • Includes: breakfast, horseback ride, picnic lunch, dinner, and accommodation at Hosteria El Pionero

Day 3: Chasing the wind

You will wake up to breakfast and shortly after you will get the horses ready. Beautiful Pampas await this lovely journey, with views of the mountains around you. Today is all about the valley, you will start having your first glance at the Paine Massif. You will arrive at the estancia where they will be waiting for you with a barbecue lunch. After lunch, you will continue for two more hours to your accommodation, a traditional puesto cabin. You will leave the horses to rest at the pen. You then get ready for supper and rest for the rest of the evening.

  • Riding time: 7 hours
  • Includes: Breakfast, horseback ride, barbecue lunch, dinner, and accommodation at a cabin in Estancia San Luis

Day 4: Toward the towers

After breakfast, you will head to the horses to get them brushed and tacked up. You will travel with views of the Torres del Paine mountains ahead, rivers, condors, and the Patagonian pampa around you. Today, you need to cross the Las Chinas River. After a picnic lunch, you will ride for a couple of hours until you reach an estancia where you end up for the day.

  • Riding time: 5 - 6 hours
  • Includes: Breakfast, horseback ride, picnic lunch, dinner, and accommodation at Hosteria Tercera Barranca

Day 5: Laguna Azul and the wild horses

After breakfast, you will head towards the horses and get them ready. Today, you have a short ride, but beautiful. Riding in this area is most likely that you encounter guanaco herds, darwins rheas, skunks, and foxes, and if you are lucky, you can spot a puma. And the biggest highlight is the three towers of granite that give the name to the National Park. As you will arrive early to your overnight destination, you will have time on the ground. The place where you are staying is known as a wild horse reserve, which you can only access by foot, so this afternoon, you will be hiking a bit.

  • Riding time: 3 hours
  • Includes: breakfast, horseback ride, picnic lunch, dinner, and accommodation in a cabin at Patagonia Bagual

Day 6: La Cebolla Lagoon

You start the day after breakfast. As it is your last day of riding, Horse Connection Patagonia has saved the best for last. You will ride the pampas and the deserted landscape gives a little taste of solitude that Patagonia provides. Today, you will enter Torres del Paine National Park and go as far inside the park as you can and actually lose sight of the towers to go in search of the “onion” lagoon. You will have a picnic and head back to your base location. After this beautiful ride, you say goodbye to the horses and a transfer will take you back to Hotel 3 Pasos.

  • Riding time: 5 - 6 hours
  • Includes: breakfast, horseback ride, picnic lunch, transfer to Hotel 3 Pasos, and accommodation at Hotel 3 Pasos

Day 7: Bye-bye Patagonia

You have had such beautiful days in Torres del Paine, so this day is free to rest and process all the experiences lived. You will have an activity in the morning together and then you will be free to visit Puerto Natales to buy souvenirs or walk and visit the city. They can recommend nice places to visit and good restaurants or ask for their assistance and they can gladly include some more activities in this itinerary. You can also check out their sister company Live Patagonia Experience to book a program tailored to your needs.
