The accommodation will be at Casa Maya Eco Lodge, where you can enjoy a true lodge comfortably under canvas and spend your stay in tune with the surrounding nature. To ensure a pleasant stay, the lodge offers you all the equipment you may need, a queen size bed, an 80 x 190 bed, ceiling fans, refrigerator, internet connection, a bathroom with shower, an office area, a shaded terrace, and access to the pool and the ranch.

Program

Day 1: Point of View - Riding hours: 1 hour and 30 minutes

It’s time to meet your horses for a first ride. You will descend Rio Buenavista in search of wading birds and perhaps, crocodiles. This is a beautiful viewpoint to admire the sunset over the Pacific Ocean.

Day 2: Playa Barco Quebrado and Playa Barigona - Riding hours: 5 hours

By opening the portal of the finca, you will enter a lush jungle where coatis, howler monkeys, birds, and butterflies live in harmony. You will head to the Barco Quebrado, an off-the-beaten-track beach, which is typical of the region. The temptation of a frantic gallop will be great! Have a picnic on the beach and go swimming or nap in a hammock. You will then discover one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast, Playa Barigona, with its white sand, coconut trees, desert, this is a dream come true!

Day 3: Playa Samara and Playa Buenavista - Riding hours: 5 hours

The magnificent forests of Guanacaste will accompany you to the sumptuous Playa Buenavista, preserved from all infrastructures, frequented only by turtles who come to lay their eggs and some Ticos on Sunday who come to play football when the tide is low. You will gain height to admire a unique view of the bay of Samara, opening to the Pacific Ocean. Lunch break will be at the restaurant this time, on the shaded terrace with local flavors. You can then go back through fields and colorful meadows with cows, birds, and other wild animals in a serene atmosphere.

Day 4: Between Land and Sea - Riding hours: 2 hours

Today you will be snorkeling and have a dolphin tour by boat! Experience a morning boat trip to discover the coast of Playa Samara, there is a possibility to see dolphins, rays, turtles, whales, etc. with one hour of mask and snorkel to observe the seabed, you may also just opt for a free morning. The horse ride for two hours will be in the afternoon between the river and land.

Day 5: South of the Guanacaste Peninsula - Riding hours: Entire day

The final day will be reserved to discover the peninsula of Guanacaste. Discover the south of the peninsula through a complete riding day in the south of the Guanacaste peninsula between swamps, mangrove, and beach (1 hour and 30-minute drive).

How to get there

Driving directions from Samara

  • When you are in Samara, take the Nicoya road.
  • Four kilometers after Samara, there is a sawmill on the left.
  • Past the bridge, and 30 meters after, turn on the trail road; there is a sign.
  • Turn to the right when you see the direction "Nosara".
  • Horse Jungle will be on the left, push the wood gates and move to the red container.

Driving directions from the trail

  • On the supermarket Iguana Verde, turn right on the trail for four kilometers.
  • On the first big cross, go straight. On the second, take on the left.
  • There are gates, Gyroptere, open the wood gate (the third).
  • After opening, follow the road; there are signs and there is no river to cross.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 20% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
