About the holiday
Bulgaria’s geographic location, which has routes connecting the Eastern and Western world, has been home to many ancient civilizations. Therefore, horses have had a significant part in its modern and ancient history. Interesting to know, a walk back in time showing Bulgaria’s relationship with horses throughout its millennial history. The horse and the establishment of Bulgaria - Khan Asparuh, the third son of Khan Kubrat, came on horseback to the sunny and fertile lands and laid the foundations of Danube Bulgaria in 681.
The proto-Bulgarians were a semi-nomadic tribe that moved from place to place in search of a better life, precisely on horseback. It is no coincidence that the battle flag of the proto-Bulgarians from the first to the ninth centuries was the horse’s tail - a symbol of victory. The horse in Bulgarian folklore - firmly embedded in everything folk artists created during the darkest times in history. There is no genre in the folklore in which the horse is not included - the songs, tales, and legends that are passed down from generation to generation are populated with brave heroes and fearless winged horses.
The respect for the horse has passed through the centuries and reached today’s modern world. The symbol of the horse continues to be present and both equestrian sports and horse tourism are successfully developed in the country. Horse Riding “Asparuh” offers a variety of horse riding training programs, as they try to preserve the traditions of their ancestors. Zero to minimal horse riding experience is required. All horses are trained. You will take care of the horses before and after the horse riding lessons, such as cleaning, brushing, and saddling them.
The program includes an intensive horse riding course of five functional training lessons, which consist of horse riding in the arena and horse riding in nature according to the experience of the group. Various horse riding equipment is available. There is a sand arena with spectacular dimensions of four decares. The program is suitable for people with regular body proportions and weight up to 90 kilograms.
Horses
Horses are Horse riding Asparuh's gift, family, and friends. If you want to be in the company of mother mares, cute adolescents, charming stallions, and well-trained riding horses at the same time, you are in the right place. Here, you will find horses of different breeds, temperaments, and purposes. All of them are specially selected and trained. The horses are patient with beginners and children, both hardy and energetic for experienced riders.
They have experience training horses for amateur riding, and the discipline of show jumping, as well as horses that actively participate in endurance competitions. Their achieved partnerships are the result of constant care, trust, training, mutual respect, and love. Bred in the best way, according to their understanding, horses have both cozy and warm environments, as well as spacious paddocks and meadows for free grazing, providing a sense of freedom and proximity to the natural habitat for the horse.
Horse riding Asparuh's relationship with them is based on the principles of the natural relationship between man and horse “natural horsemanship”. These principles include patience, deep understanding, harmonious communication, and loving care. To make you feel comfortable and safe, they provide comfortable saddles, heels (riding helmets), and other accessories necessary for riding. Thus, resulting in a combination of comfort, safety, and professionalism, they guarantee you a unique experience in the world of horses.
