Program

Day 1: Arrival

Transfer from Cagliari airport to the hotel “I Colori” in Sant’Antioco. Dinner at the restaurant “Agrifoglio” with typical local products.

Day 2: Shades of blue sky between lake and sea

An interesting horse riding trail for a few hours, including a historical overview and a relaxing stop at the artificial lake of Tratalias.

Leaving the riding school, we head towards the sea and Saint Antioco’s salt works. Following the local riverbed, we arrive at a small village called Palmas Vecchio, where we can admire a church built 1,000 years ago. Next, we visit the artificial lake of Tratalias, where we will reach an amazing panoramic viewpoint to see both the lake basin and the distant coast. On our way back, we visit the Middle Age village “Tratalias Vecchia.” Surrounded by native vegetation and the blue hues of the lake and sea, we offer you a truly captivating horse riding experience.

Dinner at the restaurant “Da Silvana” featuring local fish and products.

Day 3: Sea and history

A horse trail for experts, exploring the eastern coast of S. Antioco island.

Our horses arrive by van on the island of S. Antioco. In the area of the former Palmas quarries, we unload the horses and begin our ride to the beautiful beach of Maladroxia, passing through Mediterranean vegetation until we reach the coastline. Heading south, we arrive at the wild beach of Coe’ Cuaddus, and then to Turri, with its majestic 700-year-old tower overlooking the headland. The inner bays, sometimes sandy and sometimes rocky, depend on the sea’s whims.

Taking in this incredible and unparalleled view of the coastline, we head inland towards the Cannai Valley, where we will return to the starting point. It is an extremely fascinating experience, uncovering the eastern coast of S. Antioco.

Dinner at Agriturismo “Is Concais,” featuring typical Sardinian cuisine.

Day 4: Beaches and white sand between junipers and pine trees

An excursion along the southern coast of Sardinia, visiting the beaches of Porto Botte and Porto Pino.

We begin our horse riding tour from the riding school, following a local river towards the sea. We ride along the south coast, passing Porto Botte, a windy inlet loved by kite surfers, before reaching Is Solinas, another beach appreciated by kite surfers. We continue to the romantic bay of Su Portu e Su Trigu, and finally arrive at the renowned beach of Porto Pino, famous for its white sands and dunes, which are a UNESCO heritage site. Along the way, we might spot pink flamingos while riding through coastal vineyards, all accompanied by the unique scents of green junipers and Aleppo pines.

Dinner at the restaurant “Agrifoglio” in San Giovanni Suergiù, featuring zero-kilometer products.

Day 5: Islands on the island in high altitude

Monte Suergiù and its panorama of the islands of Sulcis.

This horse trail takes you up the mountain, offering a priceless view of the Sulcis archipelago. During the excursion, we stop near the Domus de Janas of Crobu’s mountain and climb Monte Suergiù, reaching 400 meters above sea level. From the green paths of the hill, you will be treated to breathtaking views over the sea and the islands of S. Antioco, S. Pietro, the private island of Piana, and other islets in the Sulcitan archipelago. A spectacular view that will capture your heart and inspire stunning photos.

Dinner at Pizzeria di Renzo e Rita.

Day 6: Amazing views and wide horizons

The west coast of S. Antioco – a horse riding journey full of emotions.

On this second trail on the island of S. Antioco, we begin at the famous Cannai fountain, an ancient animal drinking trough in the Cannai valley. We start the tour by riding towards the ruins of Su Semafuru, a historic signal post located on a hilltop to guard the bay of Palmas. After enjoying this unique panoramic view, we ride through Mediterranean vegetation to Portu Sciusciau on the coast, with its picturesque view of the Sirene cavern. We also visit the Nuragic village of Grutti’e Acqua and the Giant's tomb located at Su Niu’e su Crobu. Before returning, our final stop is the beautiful bay of Calasapone, with its cliffs embracing the sea, creating a charming cove where you can enjoy colorful sunsets.

Dinner at a restaurant featuring fresh fish.
