Waiiti Farmstay is a true alternative nature escape offering seclusion and privacy, a tranquil retreat to unwind and relax after a great day in the saddle! Experience total peace and quiet with an abundance of birdlife thriving in the Waiiti microclimate and numerous farm animals/pets to interact with. The accommodation has three baches, elevated bush-clad valley with panoramic sea views, and breathtaking sunsets. Glamp in a tidy bush bach, nicely furnished with quality beds, all with full bedding/linen provided; very clean and comfortable, set apart from each other, all with awesome views:

The accommodation is more suited to the mobile active person as there are steps and uneven pathways. The facilities are separated from the bach, offering two kitchens, two hot showers, and toilets. Gas will be available for you to cook with all kitchens fully kitted for your convenience.
Your accommodation booking is exclusive so you will have space for yourself; whether you have booked just one bach or more. Waiiti Farmstay is fully self-sufficient, powered by solar energy (backed up by generator) and with gas hot water. Please note that there a one-off charge of 15 NZD cleaning fee applies to all bookings.
Have a relaxed start by preparing your own breakfast in the fully kitted kitchen facilities. You will then leave for your horse ride in the morning, your departure time and return will depend on the option you have chosen. Lunch will be provided and for longer rides, snacks as well.
Upon your return, you may cook your evening meal in the camp kitchens or you may like to meet the locals and sample Waiiti cuisine at a beachfront cafe only a two-minute drive away or a country cafe/bar, only a 10-minute drive.
Horse Trek’n Taranaki caters for the individual rider, couples, families, through to groups of up to 10 riders and from novice to all levels of expertise. Your ride will take you along open fields, picturesque farm tracks, bush tracks, and may also incorporate a beach ride and cliff top. Your trail will depend on how long a trek you have chosen.
The goodwill of neighbors has allowed access to extend well beyond the Horse Trek’n Taranaki property, encompassing a wide and varied range of options and private beach access. Riders have the opportunity to see not only farm animals but also interact with pet goats and sheep and very occasionally, startle a wild pig. There is also an abundance of diverse birdlife featuring Hawks, Rosellas, Pheasants, and Peacocks.
Each trek will commence with a short lesson to build your confidence and to establish your experience. Your enjoyment is a priority and therefore, the trail selected will reflect your ability. The use of Waiiti Farmstay bach facilities are available should you wish to extend your visit and enjoy the viewing deck and picnic area, use the barbecue and kitchen hut or extend your stay further and book into a bach for the evening.
The rider weight limit is 100 kilograms, although Horse Trek'n Taranaki requires rider details prior arrival which includes height, weight, and
experience. All levels from total novice to expert will be welcomed.
Debbie considers herself very privileged to now be in a position to pursue her first love, pacifying any nervous or problem traits, riding, training, and working her horses to build a consistent and responsive core team to cater for all levels of riders. She gets a huge satisfaction seeing a rider matched to a horse she has been working with then bond with that horse during their ride, your enjoyment is paramount to Debbie.
Lunches are included in all packages. For rides up to 6-8 hours, a snack will also be provided. Your guide will be carrying water during the rides.

Please arrange your flight to arrive at Auckland Airport (AKL) or New Plymouth Airport (NPL). Transfers from these airports are not included, Horse Trek'n Taranaki can collect and drop off at 40 NZD each way, limited up to four persons per pick-up.
Ideally, you will have your own transport so you may have a good look around the many scenic destinations Taranaki has to offer. New Plymouth Airport is a 30-minute drive and Auckland Airport is a seven-hour drive. Travel North on State Highway 3 (SH3), turn left (towards the coast) 5 kilometers after Urenui onto Pukearuhe Road and drive 7 kilometers, turn right on to Waiiti Road then drive 2.5 kilometers (some gravel) uphill, and turn right through red gates.
