Villa Claudia

The accommodation will be provided in a six-room villa that has a large living area and a kitchen on the ground floor. Each room has a separate bathroom, a TV, two twin beds, a wardrobe, and a fridge. The villa is located 700 meters from Salina and has the main yard (2,500 square meters) where, besides the apple orchard, the children will find a playground specially arranged for them, with a swing, rabbits, cats, a pony with which to play or run, as the case may be.

The villa offers you a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room, and six double or twin rooms with attached bathrooms. In addition, you can stay connected to the world using the free wireless internet. Villa Claudia offers you some more comfort, the rooms are more spacious, equipped with an LCD TV and a fridge.

All rooms have attached bathrooms and a small terrace with chairs and tables in front. You can also find wireless internet here. On the ground floor, the fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, next to a dining room.

Garden

Surely what most visitors like is not inside but outside. The high court of 2,500 square meters offers you an oasis of peace. It's an ideal playground where children can run as much as their feet let them and parents can forget about concrete and worries. Here you will find two towers, two seats for grilling, a swing, and a rocking chair for children.

In the summer, there are two hammocks among the trees and in the spring, Villa Claudia will prepare some surprises for relaxation. Among the individuals who populate the yard, you can find cats, rabbits, a small puppy, occasionally, one escaped chicken, etc. A pony and horses have their own field separately and they will be happy to visit you.

Horses

Sheik

  • Breed: Gidransheik
  • Birthdate: March 12, 2009
  • Sex: Male

Sheik has a calm and friendly character. He is the horse that everyone turns their head after because he has a slow and relaxed pace and is always the last one in the group while trekking. If you want to ride him, you need long legs. The main advantage for him being tall (170 centimeters at the withers) is that you will have the best view compared to the other riders

Ashcar

  • Breed: Gidran
  • Birthdate: January 19, 2005
  • Sex: Male

Ashcar has a frame that proves that Gidran horses are not only meant for riding but also for light traction. He is a bit shorter than the rest of the troop, a bit more stocky, and has the longest tail and mane, which makes him the girls’ favorite. Also, he is a true escape artist, as he keeps finding ways to get out of his enclosures and likes to explore the neighbors’ gardens.

Azraf

  • Breed: Gidran
  • Birthdate: February 12, 2006
  • Sex: Male

Azraf is the rebel. He deviates from the accepted color line of the breed (chestnut) and has a white mark on his belly that makes him stand out. He is the adoptive father of all newcomers, whenever a new horse joins the group, Azraf is sure to follow him or her closely in order to make sure the induction period is carried out properly.

Mersuch

  • Breed: Gidran
  • Birthdate: March 25, 2000
  • Sex: Male

The grandpa of the group does exactly what an experienced horse is supposed to. He is always the leader of the group and likes to be in front while trekking. He is the only horse from this group that has fresh Shagya Arabian genes (the mother is Gidran and the father is Shagya) and this can be easily seen in his slim frame and the shape of his head.

Location

The stables are located in a hilly area, in Slanic, Prahova County, one of the spa resorts in Romania. The city hosts the biggest salt mine in Europe, Unirea Mine, and several lakes with a very high salinity which are arranged for swimming and sunbathing. Slanic is also very close to Romania’s most well-known region, Transylvania, only two and a half hours from the famous Dracula’s Castle and three hours from the last inhabited fortress from Europe, Sighisoara.

You can roam in the horse’s saddle at the wildest areas of Europe, the hills surrounding the Carpathian mountain chain, one of the few places on the continent where the flora and fauna haven’t been altered or influenced by human activities and the ecosystems remain intact. You can ride up to an altitude of 1,400 meters, enjoying alpine grasslands, where the only people you will come across are shepherds who raise and care for their flocks as people used to over half a century ago.

You can visit the sheepfolds and watch them gather the fodder traditionally and how cheese is prepared manually, without the help of technology. Wildlife is abundant and, even if bears and wild boars are quite shy and very unlikely to come across, almost every time you can spot deer, foxes, falcons, and rabbits. Depending on how experienced the participant is, you can go trekking for 15 up to 30 kilometers each day, lunch will be usually prepared in the heart of nature with the help of firewood or at the sheepfolds you will come across during the route.
