Sandra Jelly

Sandra is an artist, yogini, and an equus coach. She started exploring yoga in 2001 in Amsterdam. In 2009, following her inner wish of living her passions, she packed her brushes and her yoga mat and put on her horse boots to go for a sabbatical to Petra, Jordan. It was the beginning of her adventure of discovering and expressing herself in the most authentic way.

"Discovering the desert and myself"

the desert is the perfect location for a yoga and meditation retreat! It has been wonderful walking in the middle of the desert and practicing facing unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. Sandra was great, I enjoyed our yoga sessions and conversations. The experience in the paddock with her horses was very touching and very helpful to work on myself. For me it was first time in having that close contact with horses. We were a very small group and this was perfect to better interact and exchange our emotions/feelings. Definitely recommended!

"Connecting to Jordon and your inner heart space"

This was truely an adventure of a kind. The Seven Wonders Beduinecamp is such a wonderful place to be. Yoga on the rocks facing Little Petra is fantastic and Sandra a very expiering teacher. Working with the horses was very emotional and a great experience. If you are looking for a true wonderful place, you will find it here.

Thank you In2Jordan for organising such an inspiring experience! I had an incredible time discovering Jordan thanks to the organisation of Sandra and her team. It felt really unique to combine the culturally incredible Jordan with amazing yoga and horse sessions! Thank you again for creating such an impact in my travel, the only negative point was that it was too short!

Just leaving Little Petra and heading to Wadi Rum. A huge thank you to Alena and Awad for their kindness and hospitality over the past two days. Missing dinner in caves and in the middle of the desert already! I came here feeling stressed, sad and a little lost and I am leaving with perspective, being able to see the bigger picture, with a sense of adventure and some of my confidence back.

I just wanted to share how amazing my time was with Sandra and her horses in Wadi Musa. I arrived in April, with the heavy weight of burdens and in need of some gentle time in the desert. Gamar, Sandra’s first horse, came out and we did some exercise in the yard. Not yet used to me she took her time to come closer. And then she came to me and embraced me, so intently and intimately, like she realized I needed some support and in recognition of what I was going through. And that was day one. She was amazing, as was the whole holiday, and Sandra, who supported me also with light and kindness.

I have been birding for years, so when my work sent me to Jordan, I was excited to take an extra day for birding. Although I have traveled extensively, this was my first trip to the middle east so I did not know where to start. After some time on the internet and several email inquiries, I decided to go with In2Jordan for several reasons: 1) their prompt and thorough responsiveness over email, 2) the detail provided by their materials, 3) the cost that was in-line with other guides, 4) the availability of a real bird guide and English speaking driver, and 5) the friendly tone and English fluency of the staff. I am glad that I booked with this company and guide because it turned out to be a great day. I had fun, saw a lot of habitat that I could not have accessed on my own, and my hosts had excellent identification skills. The guide brought along a professor from a local university; they are frequent birding companions. Between the two of them, they knew just where to bring us at what time of day for certain birds. As a result we saw 35 species, many of which were lifers for me, despite it being the height of summer (which is not the best birding season). They transported us in a comfortable 4-wheel drive car with air conditioning, had brought along plenty of water and snacks, and provided binoculars and a field guide. They also taught me a lot about the environmental issues facing Jordan and the region. The other tourist that day had never birded before, and I think he is now hooked. I should also say that being a woman and traveling alone in the middle east raised some concerns for my husband who did not join me on the trip. I felt completely safe comfortable and my gentlemen hosts ‘looked after’ me very kindly
