Rita Mihalaki
Rita Mihalaki is a passionate equestrian and qualified as a FEI coach. She has been riding all her life, started as a little girl, and for many years, she was an athlete competing in show jumping. After many years of riding and getting qualifications in Greece and the UK, she decided to go back to her roots and open a yard in her hometown, the beautiful village of Molyvos. She enjoys the lifestyle of the laidback culture of a Greek island. She gets to enjoy her work and bring this amazing experience to her local students as well as show her guests around the amazing nature on horseback.

"Greek Island Advanced Horse Riding Holiday"
This was a wonderful holiday. The horses (many) and instructors (Zuzanna and Nikoleta) were excellent and the stables were cleanly kept and efficiently run. We got involved in grooming, tacking/untacking our horses, helped with the feeding too as we were made to feel like family; helping one another out like family. Additionally, there was enough time off away from the stables, to enjoy the pool and bar at the hotel.
Our leaders took our rides through the beautiful northern tip of the Lesvos countryside and coast, which had seen a very long, hot summer. I rode Eric who is a beautiful, kind, strong horse and my husband rode Bonita, equally beautiful and steady - a real confidence giver. This ride is not for those who can't keep their seat - it is for intermediate/advanced riders. There are some long hours in the saddle.
Our main leader - Zuzanna, is caring and kind (to man and beast), funny with an infectious laugh and personality to match, who kept us safe while having the best time. Nikoleta also wonderful but didn't spend so long in her company but both ... 5 stars+++.
Then there are the yard animals, Rocky, Penny and Doggie, who sometimes join the rides and the cats and kittens who keep watch while we're away.
Communication with Rita was impeccable - if there was an issue, a simple WhatsApp message and everything will be sorted ... quickly!
Overall, altogether a really good week thanks to all at Ippos Molyvos

"A perfect getaway "
I had a great time! The location of the hotel is great- slightly remote and very peaceful but you can still easily get to the villages nearby if you wish to explore them.
The sea is very clear, the beach is rocky but as long as you’ve got some swimming shoes you can easily go for a dip.
Nikoleta is a wonderful instructor and a lovely person. I really enjoyed her lessons. The horses are very well loved and calm. All in all it’s a perfect getaway

"Good balance of horse riding and holiday feeling"
The horses were safe and strong to ride on. Felt very safe riding Eric. They had variety in the day trips we made.
I couldn’t get a room at the hotel because the rooms were fully booked but I had a studio room which was very nice and big, just close to the hotel. As compensation I got full board at Bella Vista Hotel which was great. Very nice pool, close to the beach and the food were very nice👌 the hotel had a Greek night activity which was very cozy.

"Great riding experience!"
I had a great riding week with Rita and Nikoleta. They care a lot about the horses, who are clearly very well treated. We did different trails throughout the week, which is a great way to explore Molyvos and its surroundings. Cantering on the beach was definitely a highlight. The horses clearly enjoy it and feel very experienced and safe on the different terrains. Great accommodation and food as well :)

"An amazing holiday experience "
The Instructor is incredibly kind and welcoming. She really lets you see the best of Molyvos and makes sure you gain the most in the trip. I had many complications about dates leading up to the trip and she was incredibly patient and flexible and catered to my every needs. The horses are well trained and know exactly what they are doing, I easily got used to the horses and really enjoyed riding them. Overall, every aspect of the trip from accomodation to food and activities were amazing.

"Loving Lesvos "
What a remarkable Greek horse holiday with fit, gorgeous, bombproof horses! We are both advanced riders, but would feel comfortable taking out inexperienced grandkids the next trip!!
Rita let us experience EVERYTHING the island had to offer on the back of a horse as well as from a tourist standpoint as we had never been to Greece. We rode on mountainous terrain heading to the highest point, Petra, covered with olive trees with Turkey in the background!
She took us down ancient narrow cobblestone paths to the iconic Molyvos castle on one side and the harbor on the other. Everyday we stopped in a different village and ate amazing fresh local foods served by people that loved sharing their culture with us. Our ride on the beach ended with eating seaside, ouzo and anchovies (tradition!) local beer, fresh smoked fish, pork schnitzel. The tethered horses relaxing while we dined.
The accommodations, staff and buffet meals at the Bells Vista Hotel were perfect. Something for every taste from traditional Greek (the freshest tomatoes, and cucumbers from the owners garden) to Mexican,Italian and everything was delicious! The hotel provided nightly entertainment and immersed you in the Greek culture with traditional dancing and singing.
