Iridike Polo Club was founded by Luciano Irazabal. Together with his sidekick Nano Iturrioz, they have a combined polo experience of over 80 years, half of which in Spain. Iridike has a relaxed atmosphere in a quiet area in Southern Spain where the essence of life is brought to its right, and nothing is too much to ask. Iridike is well known for its hospitality, friendliness, and inclusiveness. From 5-goal professionals to beginner players enjoy their time at the club; on the field, but above all, off the pitch.
Iridike revolves around the guests and the horses. They provide complete flexibility in terms of planning your trip and can fully customize the experience according to your needs. Iridike allows people to disconnect fully and truly live the genuine polo experience. Being located in southern Spain, means you can be on the beach one morning, and just a minute later, be standing on a historic castle from the 8th century looking over vast natural areas, ready to play chukkers 30 minutes after. Combine your trip for the perfect mix of polo, Spain, and relaxation.
In 2006 Luciano started a project with his cousin. Together, they founded Pony del Sol, a company dedicated to preparing horses in Uruguay to send to England at the beginning of the season ready for sale. In 2007, at Inglesham Polo Club, 47 horses were auctioned and in 2008 at Fifield Polo Club, a further 30 more were sold. From then on, Luciano has been based in Sotogrande running a polo school, hiring horses for playing practices, tournaments, and playing professionally himself. Today Iridike Polo is based at Tres Rosas Polo Club running the polo school.
Iridike Polo is located in Tres Rosas, Sotogrande, in the South of Spain. This place was specially built for practicing polo, combining all the requirements that make it a perfect establishment and with all the necessary facilities for learning, practicing, or playing this sport. Thanks to its 70 boxes and to Spain's ideal winter climate, it is a perfect place for lodging horses from all around Europe. Three Roses is a clear example in Sotogrande of the passion for polo experienced since many years ago.
Daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and house beverage are included in the package.

Driving to Iridike Polo is easy in daylight and when you know the route. Iridike Polo is residing at the polo hacienda named Tres Rosas. In the rural areas and around Iridike Polo, the mobile telephone connection is very varied and sometimes very poor (NB for your telephone’s GPS/navigator). Please look into the driving directions before going here especially if you arrive at night – Iridike wants you to have a pleasant start of your stay.)
There are several directions to reach Iridike Polo depending where you will be coming from. Whether you come from Malaga (then you go south) or Gibraltar (then you go north), it can be recommended to know the route between Puerto Sotogrande (the Marina) and Iridike Polo, as it will get you acquainted with: the Marina (many restaurants, beaches etc.), San Enrique (the polo shop Takito, Ayala polo club’s restaurant Cancha Dos etc.), San Martin de Tesorillo (gas station, pharmacy, horsy shop etc.).
When you are on the (north-south going) highway AP7 take the exit for Torreguadiaro number 133 – through two roundabouts towards San Enrique. Continue straight ahead until you reach the little town of El Secadero (gas station on right) which leads you into San Martin de Tesorillo where you follow the 90 degree left turn. Then continue straight ahead (with several bends and curves).
The road will lead you the to the only Y-cross curve, in which you follow to the right in that curve towards Jimena de la Frontera (if you end up in Jimena, then you have gone too far). 500 meters before the Iridike Polo, you will pass Bar/Restaurante El Vaquero in the little village of Marchenilla on your right, at night they might not have their light lit.
Iridike Polo Club will be on your left, look for the big "POLO" sign on your right – drive slowly and be careful as the entrance to Iridike Polo is close to a curve. There is also a "POLO" sign at the gate.
