During this vacation, you will have two overnights. The first night will be spent at a completely isolated location, in one of the villages of Sami Valley. The second night will be spent on a traditional farm, in the village of Demoutsandata.

Program

Horses

Greek horse races have been in Greece for the past 10,000 years. They have an altitude of between 13.28 and 16.24 hands, depending on the breed. They are particularly friendly with humans, at the point where they are purposely looking for human contact. Kefalonia's Horse Riding Stable has eight such horses, many of which are their breeding on the basis of the original characteristics of each breed.

Kefalonia's Horse Riding Stable only organize private tours. They believe the organization of equestrian routes with the participation of a group of people who do not know each other gives the activity a character of industrialization.

Equipment

For riders under 14 years old, Kefalonia's Horse Riding Stable provide helmets and safety jackets. All the riders under 18 years old must wear the provided helmets, or they can just use their own.

Daily itinerary

At 7:00 a.m., you will prepare the horses and depart for the caves of the area, like Drogaratin Melisani Lake Cave. Αfter a three-hour stop for a snack, Kefalonia's Horse Riding Stable recommend the pre-seismic villages of Sami Valley, and you will overnight at a completely isolated location for your own and your horses' dinner.

Day 2: Eight hours of riding

Οn the way, you will pass by thaws with ebony olive trees from the canyon of Kelos of Sami Valley. The view from there is excellent.

You will see Ithaca and the rest of the island (valley of Omala, Argostoli, Lixori). In the valley of Omala, you can visit the robola cooperative for a guided tour and the monastery of Saint Gerasimos. The path passes through robola vineyards. In the afternoon, you will visit the ancient city of Krani, next to Argostoli, with great views of Koutavos Lagoon. You will come back for dinner.

Day 3: Departure

You will start again from the traditional farm in Demoutsandata to the castle of Saint George, and, after a short tour, you will begin your return to Sami on the same route.
