On this trip, you will discover beautiful landscapes around a wonderful mountain lake. Enjoy the calm and beauty of nature on horseback, sleeping outside but with maximal comfort and great food. Finally, experiment with respectful and reliable horses.
- Horses breed: quarter, paint horses, Arabians, Spanish, all around 150cm but sturdy.
- Tack: Most are ridden bitless but bites are available if preferred. The saddles are very comfortable and specially chosen for long travels, the type is rather classic but some have fenders. Bags attached of course.
- The rider weight limit is 90kg, but there are also Irish cob horses for heavier riders. In that case, please contact L'Echappée Pastorale.

Accommodation
The riders will be accomodated at a camping site in a common tent on both nights before the riding day. The cotton tent is a large and comfortable one that can be heated, and all the facilities of the camping site will be avaliable for hygienic use.
Camp beds and blankets will be provided, while sleeping bags will be required. The evening meals will be taken at the restaurant. Private tents can be availed on request if needed.
Program
Enjoy a weekend escape in a splendid setting! This two-day ride on the banks of a magnificent lake at the gates of Corrèze will be a great adventure. The departure will be directly from the lake campsite, where the horses were transported to the day before.
Discover the steep paths of this extraordinary site, its springs, its caves, and its villages, without forgetting its cirque and limestone cliffs. You will live a pure outdoor experience and sleep next to your horse in a very comfortable way.
Day 1
- Transfer
- Arrival at the farm for transfer by car to the campsite
- Night in a huge and comfortable tent above the lake
Day 2: The lake, Chasteaux village, and GR du Causse Corrézien (22km)
A route full of elevation changes will allow you to discover splendid viewpoints all around the lake, which will be alternately revealed or hidden throughout the day. You will take a picnic along the way then return to the campsite to enjoy the local restaurant for your evening meal, after a quick visit to the beach along the way!
Day 3: Return to the farm via the Coteaux Périgourdins (27km)
This day will be the day of return. You will leave the lake from the west by climbing the ridges of the Ladou cirque, then you will cross the forest between Corrèze and Dordogne to the village of La Dornac.
Lunch will be taken at a "table d'hote" with goose breeders, before descending to the Coly valley and then returning to the farm. The stewardship will repatriate your luggage.

Anne is an equestrian tourism guide and a shepherdess. She welcomes you all year round from the equestrian farm in Saint-Amand de Coly, for a walk through the natural landscapes of Randal and its baux villages, to meet the herd, or even for a horse trek lasting several days. The rest of the time, she trains horses, looks after the herd during grazing, and manages with Christophe the life of the sheep, care, births, and transhumance.
