The stewardship follows L'Echappée Pastorale's route and carries your luggage each evening to the new lodge, allowing you to "travel light" and enjoy the brisk pace as well as the gait of their horses. The Vézère Valley is also the golden triangle of Périgord Noir and therefore there is no question of ignoring Périgord gastronomy.
Daily itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at the accommodation.
Day 2: Testing the mounts, La Chapelle Aubareil
- Distance: 22 kilometers / 14 miles
You leave in the morning for a short loop around Saint Amand to check your equipment and your bond with your horse. Lunch at the farm, then final departure to a hotel surrounded by nature, with a gourmet restaurant and swimming pool, what more could you ask for?
Day 3: Saint Leon sur Vézère and La Roque Saint Christophe

Today, you are exploring the banks of Vézère and its limestone hillsides which contain numerous historical treasures, between troglodyte cliffs and prehistoric sites, the landscapes are breathtaking. Lunch takes place in Saint Léon sur Vézère, an opportunity if the weather is nice to go down into the river with your horse. In the evening, a comfortable mobile home awaits you at the Paradis campsite, with once again the opportunity to take advantage of the facilities of the place to relax: swimming pool, sauna, etc.
Day 4: Les Eyzies
- Distance: 26 kilometers / 17 miles
Today, you continue your discovery of the Vallée de l'Homme in the village of Eyzies, before returning to your BnB and a relaxing evening around a good meal.
Day 5: Commarque - Marquay - Tamnies
- Distance: 25 kilometers / 16 miles
The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the Chateau de Commarque, which reveals itself to you like a surprise in its cocoon of greenery. The secret Beaune valley is an opportunity for a well-deserved rest for horses, and a visit to the site for those who wish. Your guide then takes you to the lodge near the Tamniès ponds.
Day 6: Saint Geniès - Saint Amand

It is time to head back and enjoy your last gallops in the forest. You pass through the magnificent village of Saint Geniès before returning to the lands of Saint Amand.
