Enjoy your stay at huge, dual-aspect, sunfilled en-suite bedrooms and bathrooms overlooking the garden, your horses' field, and moorland. The room comes with super King bed or twin, Egyptian cotton high thread-count bed linen, fluffy white towels and bathrobes, White Company toiletries, proper coffee and fresh milk. The rooms are decorated in 'Romantic Jane Austen' style with original oil paintings, antiques and deep carpets. The 100-year-old square granite house was originally built as a fishing lodge, where the River Swincombe meets the West Dart.

Day 1

You arrive to tea and crumpets in Wydemeet's luxurious sitting room, a drink and crisps or anything you like, really! Enjoy supper in a nearby traditional local hostelry or the ultimate in fining dining - both just a ten-minute drive away (not included)

Day 2

A delicious breakfast will consist of anything from a double Full English to poached egg, spinach and avocado on toast. It is served in the private dining room whenever it suits you after 9:00 am - wear your pyjamas if you like!

Set off for your ride anytime after breakfast, stopping off for lunch at a characterful pub. The ride will be at the pace, duration and distance of your choice, and your guide will talk you through the various kinds of terrain and sights you could encounter along the way.

Tea, cake and crumpets will be served in front of a roaring log fire on your return. After that, you can relax with a glass of sparkling white wine, on the patio. Delicious canapes and a sumptuous candle-lit cut glass four-course dinner will be served in Wydemeet's elegant dining room, whenever you say.

Day 3

This second day of wonderful riding and delicious AGA cooked-to-order breakfast will be followed by pub lunch and tea.

Extension options

Riding on Dartmoor

Nowhere compares with riding on Dartmoor! Huge skies and empty vistas, there are few boundaries, gates or roads. Ride at your own pace across bleakest, remotest moorland, inch past deadly mires, and the spooky prison; ford rivers and streams; race across wide emerald green vistas dotted with purple heather and yellow gorse, skirt sparkling granite tors, as wild ponies, sheep, and cattle gaze; and buzzards cry from the vast skies above!

Most remote accommodation

Wydemeet Bed and Breakfast is probably the most remote accommodation south of the Watford Gap! It is surrounded by 365 square miles of open moorland, bridleways and footpaths stretch in every direction from the garden gate. From your room, you can hear wild ponies neigh over the garden wall! Wydemeet lies at the end of a dead-end lane leading to remotest moor, yet it's just twenty minutes from the A38 highway. Nobody knows it's there. There are no signs nor notices - just complete privacy.
