This holiday really suits those who don’t ride on a frequent basis or who are brushing up on slightly rusty skills. Nolton Stables is lucky to have two excellent beaches and their own private woodland nearby and these are the destinations on the one and a half-hour rides! This package comprises two nights and three one and a half-hour rides.
Lovingly restored and decorated to a very high standard, this period property with medieval vaulted ceilings and many original details sits within its own walled gardens, overlooking the ancient church of St. Madoc. First mentioned as a Rectory in 1352, painstakingly restored to its former glory using lime-based mortars, plasters, and paints, this house is full of character and interest.
Glebe House is situated in the heart of the village of Nolton. Within the grounds, there is a good size gravel car park. All the bedrooms have lovely views, comfortable beds, digital radios, and a variety of books to fill in those quieter moments. There are four bedrooms in Glebe House which were named after the local Islands.
Glebe House sits within beautiful walled gardens, set back from the lane that runs through the peaceful village of Nolton. The opposite is the ancient church of St. Madoc. A short walk through the village is Nolton Stables with beach riding, horse riding lessons, and even Zorbing available. Nolton Haven is a short distance away down the hill where the Mariners Inn overlooks the sheltered bay.
Close by are the beaches of Druidstone, Broadhaven, and Newgale. Further afield, it is easy to get to the Marloes and Dale area to the south, St. Davids to the north, and the towns of Haverfordwest and Milford Haven.
There is a pretty south-facing sitting room for the guests to relax in with a welcome cup of tea and watch television or mull over the day. In the colder months, the log burner is lit and this room becomes warm and cozy when the shutters are closed and the thick curtains are drawn. Nolton Stables would like to offer all guests a very warm welcome and hope that you have a wonderful and memorable break.

This room has beautiful old oak A-frames visible in the ceiling, a relic from the original building of the house. With its curvy quaint chimney breast and lovely views over the walled garden, Ramsey has a lot of character. The pretty little en-suite shower room used to be part of the parish cupboard when the house was a working rectory! This room features:

A cozy and pretty twin room facing south which catches the sun and looks out over the fields (often with mares and foals in them) which stretch out towards the coast. This room has a neat little en-suite with an excellent power shower. This room features:
After arriving and settling in at Glebe House, why not take a quiet drive along the coastal road en route to eating at one of the excellent local restaurants that Nolton Stables can recommend?
After breakfast in Glebe House, your 1.5-hour ride will go to the fabulous and dramatic Druidston beach. The afternoon ride wends its way through the village, past the picturesque Nolton Haven Beach, and into Nolton Stables' own wooded valley. In the evening, you have the choice of several local restaurants in which you can enjoy supper.
After another home-cooked breakfast in Glebe House, your morning ride will meander along a coastal route to the beach where you can enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery and ride through the surf and along the sand. Depart from Glebe House after a welcome shower!
The stables are located in Pembrokeshire, on the West Coast of Wales in the middle of the stunning expanse of St. Brides Bay. To the south is Broadhaven, Marloes and Skomer Island, to the north is Newgale Beach and the St. Davids peninsular. The county town of Haverfordwest is a 15-minute drive away.
There are over 60 horses and ponies with something to suit every rider. There is a short hack across the fields to the beautiful beach of Druidstone Haven, which is the main location for beach riding. When the tide is in, then there are plenty of countryside tracks and paths to explore. The stables are also home for fun activities of Zorbing and a Segway Course, and lessons can be taken in the indoor school. There is extensive accommodation available close to the stables with their own self-catering cottages and the historic Glebe House Bed and Breakfast. Please note these times are just a guide and are subject to change according to the tide.
Located in the small village of Nolton, Glebe House is easily accessible from Haverfordwest and central to the west coast of Pembrokeshire. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is nearby, along with the coastal villages of Broadhaven, Little Haven, Newgale, and Solva; Skomer Island is easy to reach from Nolton.
Nolton Stables is located in the small, coastal village of Nolton, a short distance from Nolton Haven, Druidstone Haven, Newgale, and Broad Haven. The stables and accommodation are close to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and ideal for exploring the stunning countryside, beaches, and cliffs of St. Brides Bay.
To the south is the Marloes peninsular and Skomer Island, famous for the breeding colonies of Puffins and Manx Shearwaters. To the north is St. Davids peninsular, with the city of St. Davids and its cathedral. A little further, a bit easy to get to, are the market town of Haverfordwest, the port of Milford Haven, and the very popular seaside town of Tenby.
Druidstone is the main beach used for beach riding and is a short trek across Nolton Stables' fields. It is a quiet beach as it is only accessible by footpath and bridleway. The Druidstone Hotel sits on the cliffs above, overlooking the beach and sea, and has a bar and restaurant.
This beach, surrounded by cliffs and easily accessible by car, is also used for beach riding when quiet. Unlike Druidstone, it has a car park and is easy to get to so it becomes busy in summer. There is a pub called the Mariners Inn overlooking the beach and next to the car park and the Puffin Shuttle runs through connecting it to St. Davids and the St. Brides Bay villages by the coastal bus service.
Almost two miles long, Newgale is a popular beach for surfing, body boarding, wind, and kite surfing; there's plenty of space and easy access from Haverfordwest. It is also an easy walk from Nolton along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path to Newgale where there are a few shops, a surf shop, cafes, and a pub.
The beach is overlooked by the village of Broadhaven with shops, cafes, pub, and a surf shop. It is a popular and often busy seaside resort with safe bathing and often good surf when it's too rough at Newgale.
Haverfordwest is the county town of Pembrokeshire and is located centrally with transport connections to the whole of Pembrokeshire. There is a full range of shops in the town and retail parks.
St. Davids is the smallest city in Britain and is named after the patron saint of Wales, Saint David. The history of St. Davids goes back to the 4th century when St. David lived here. St. Davids Peninsula has Whitesands Beach, Carn Ingli, and views across to Ramsey Island. St. Davids Cathedral was built in 1181 and is an impressive site located below the village in a valley.
Tenby is Pembrokeshire's most popular seaside destination located on the south coast with easy access from the M4, Swansea and Cardiff. Caldey Island is just offshore and there are many boat trips available.
Milford Haven is widely associated with the oil and gas industry nearby and is a busy fishing port. The main attraction is the marina with shops, cafes, and a range of pubs and restaurants.
This is the nearest seaside village with a local shop, post office, pub, and cafes. The sheltered beach is popular for water sports, making a good location when the wind or sea is unsuitable at Newgale.
The nearest village with the friendly Mariners Inn. The village is very small, a handful of houses overlooking the beach and haven. There are coastal bus stops here and there is easy access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
The package includes 2 breakfasts.

Beach riding, along with countryside rides when the tide is in, are the main activities at Nolton Stables. They also offer Zorbing on their dedicated Zorb run and Segway racing on the Indoor Segway Course.
This national nature reserve is a haven for wildlife, with Grey Seals, Puffins, Manx Shearwaters, Guillemots, and Razorbills. It is located near Marloes village on the Dale peninsula and is easily accessible from Nolton. There are sailings across the short sound from April to October.
The boat across can only be booked on the day and the office is open early for crossings between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., returning in the afternoon. The puffins are the main attraction in the early summer months and the boat gets booked very early so it pays to stay local and get up early!
Manx Shearwaters are only seen at night and there are 120,000 breeding pairs on Skomer, making it the largest colony in the world! Bluebells cover the island in late spring, followed by red campion in June.
Ramsey Island is located off the Saint Davids peninsular and is an important RSPB Reserve. It is used by a number of bird species for breeding including guillemots, razorbills, fulmars, and kittiwakes, as well as seals. In the summer, there are boat trips leaving from St. Justinians for either a trip around the island or to cross over for the day.
St. Davids principle palace remains are located alongside St. Davids Cathedral in the valley below the city. The first monastery was established in the sixth century.
Dating from an original timber structure in 1093 with the stone castle being started in 1189 Pembroke Castle is Pembrokeshire's largest and best-preserved Norman castle. The town of Pembroke grew up around the castle and still has parts of the town walls visible. Pembroke is in the south part of Pembrokeshire and about a 20 minutes' drive from Nolton. The castle is open all year and more information about its history can be found at Pembroke Castle.
Another great example of Pembrokeshire's Norman castles, Carew Castle is a short drive from Pembroke towards Tenby and is well worth a visit, with special events being held in the summer. More information can be found on the Carew Castle and Tidal Mill pages.
