All are within walking distance. The Farmhouse and buildings are all traditionally constructed in wood and stone to respect its unique environment. There are five comfortable double bedrooms, all with shower, toilet, and small living area. Oosting-HorseRiding also has a bunkhouse for groups of maximum 10 persons.

Most evenings, a campfire will probably be burning, creating a great atmosphere for talking over the day's adventures.

  • Sunday: Second lesson day (possibly with a short ride at Oosting-Horseriding's own estate) and lunch at the farmhouse
  • Monday: Adventure trail in the morning and evening trail
  • Tuesday: Resting day for you and your horse
  • Wednesday: A full days trail ride including picnic
  • Thursday: Trail ride in the morning and obstacle course in Oosting-Horseriding's trail park in the afternoon
  • Friday: Departure after breakfast

Please note that Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday itinerary will be confirmed on an individual basis during your week. You have the option to have further lessons on these days or a guided trail ride

Day 1: Friday

You are welcome to arrive at Oosting-HorseRiding from 16:00. You are free to explore the ranch, meet your fellow guests, and settle into your room. In the evening, a delicious three-course homecooked meal will be served in the restaurant.

Day 2: Saturday

After breakfast, you will get extensive explanation about the basics of riding with a western saddle and dealing with the horses. Oosting-Horseriding will give a saddling demonstration and there is plenty of opportunities to share your experience and ask questions. You will be partnered with your horse, which you will ride for the entire week, ensuring to build a trusting partnership. After lunch, your first acquaintance with your horse for this week will become a fact and you will have your first riding lesson, which will last for (minimum) two hours. This will give you the basic skills necessary for riding and you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Day 3: Sunday

After breakfast, you will go to the stables and saddle your horse to be ready for the morning lessons. An experienced member of the staff will be available at all times if you need some advice or help. There will be ample opportunity to practice the techniques discussed on Sunday, either in your group or individually. After lunch, there is more opportunity to improve your riding skills, followed by a short guided trail ride at the estate (if possible for you). After two days of practice and instruction, you will be feeling more confident as a rider and will have a trusting relationship with your horse.

Day 4: Monday

Today, the horse riding adventure really starts, as an individual and adventurous program awaits you. After breakfast, you will ride the adventure trail of approximately two up to two and a half hours, with two to four people, without a guide. The trail is within the extensive grounds of the ranch and enables you and your horse to become much closer friends.

The afternoon is free for you to relax, before the spectacular evening ride. The quieter the ride, the more likely you are to see the abundant wildlife of the park. The evening ride (approximately two hours) heightens your senses to the sounds and sensations of the park, an experience not to be missed. In addition, optional lessons or a guided trail ride can be taken instead of this program.

Day 5: Tuesday

Today is a rest day for both you and your horse. You can choose to relax at the estate, take a walk in the forest, or go to the lake. If you have your own car, you may want to visit a beach, a typical French town nearby, or the historical village of Carcassonne.

Day 6: Wednesday

After breakfast, you will be leaving for a full day trail ride as you should be able to control trot and gallop. Lunch will be a picnic. In addition, optional lessons or a guided trail ride can be taken instead of this program.

Day 7: Thursday

After breakfast, you will make a trail ride in the morning, have lunch at the ranch, and make use of the trail park with natural obstacles in the afternoon. This evening, you finish this week with a big barbecue, where you can share your many adventures and experiences of this week. In addition, optional lessons or a guided trail ride can be taken instead of this program.

Day 8: Friday

After breakfast, you, unfortunately, have to say 'goodbye'. It is your experience that you will have had a unique and enjoyable experience and Oosting-HorseRiding is sure that you have gained more sense concerning horses and nature. Oosting-HorseRiding would love to welcome you back in the future.

Note: When the weather and the lake allow, you shall go swimming with the horses, which is a unique experience.

The horses' well being is Oosting-HorseRiding's central focus as they are the most important one to Oosting-HorseRiding. Grazing together in vast pastures ensures that they are happy and get along well together. The horses are trained for the strength and endurance that is required for rides and ranch work. They are social, listening well, and very reliable. For the last few years, Oosting-HorseRiding also has a small breeding program and the young horses love to be around people, too.

All of the horses have their own character and are hard working horses. They live in freedom, have lots of space, and are in principle outside always unless it is winter and the weather is just too bad. At the ranch, Oosting-HorseRiding has over 24 horses that love to show you the beautiful area. It's also possible to bring your own horse to ride trails on your own or make use of the trail park.

She is playing an important part in the company ever since 2006, creating a memorable experience for all guests. Yank (Jan Henk) Oosting
In the summer of 2000, Jan Henk Oosting (Yank) started his new challenge: to organize professional Horse Riding holidays and work with cattle in the South of France. Yank has already had great success in Belgium with this concept before. With his own hands, he has transformed his beautiful country estate of over 120 hectares to a complete Horse domain. Since his daughter took over the business in 2016, Yank's main focus is on giving lessons in the beginner program and taking care of the horses and the estate.

The National Park of Haut Languedoc is a protected nature reserve of several thousand hectares, situated in the beautiful South of France. In the middle of this completely unspoiled nature, at a height of 1,000 meters, in between immense forests, expanses of wild heathland, strange and beautiful rock formations, huge lakes, and fast flowing streams, you will find Oosting-HorseRiding's estate.

The beautiful Languedoc region has a mild climate, which is perfect for long trail rides, even in the middle of summer. This area offers many routes to discover the full beauty of this stunning park. Here, Jacqueline organizes trails to give you a truly authentic riding adventure in the heart of Haut Languedoc.

  • Here, you turn right and keep right. Follow this graveled path all the way through the forest (approximately five kilometers) and you will arrive at the ranch.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Béziers Cap d'Agde Airport (BZR). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request for 75 EUR.

Alternatively, you can fly to Toulouse–Blagnac Airport (TLS). There is a bus from the airport to Toulouse train station and you can take the train to Beziers from there to get the transfer. From Beziers, it is about one to one and a half hours' drive to the ranch.

Please note that Oosting-HorseRiding can only do one transfer on Friday and you have to be in Beziers at 5 p.m. the latest. If the RyanAir schedule does not permit you doing so, the only alternative is having a rental car. It is possible (in Beziers, Carcassonne, as well as Toulouse) to book a rental car and drive up to the Oosting-HorseRiding estate by own transportation (about one and a half hours' drive from Beziers, two hours' drive from Carcassonne, and about three hours' drive from Toulouse).

Arrival by train

Take an express train to Paris. In Paris, change to 'Gare du Nord' and take the train to Beziers. Please be properly informed about route and timings as this can vary during the season. In Beziers, you can be picked up. There is a transfer from Beziers train station to the estate at 5 p.m. the latest. Return cost for the transfer is 75 EUR per person. Please let Oosting-HorseRiding know in time if / when you need a transfer so they can take this into account.

Transfer timing also depends on when guests arrive and depart. Unfortunately, Oosting-HorseRiding is not able to have a transfer twice a day. They can only do one because of distance and time. If only guests traveling by air, guests departing will leave the estate around 10 a.m. and new arriving guests will be picked up right after arrival at the airport.

If only guests traveling by train and departure and arrival times are not quite the same, the transfer will take place as follows:

  • Arrival: Transfer will take place after the last guest has arrived at Beziers train station.
  • Departure: All guests will be taken to Beziers train station together with the first departing guest.
  • Combination of air and train travelers: The biggest time difference is with the arriving guests. Flights from Düsseldorf to Weeze arrive around 3 p.m. whilst the train is mostly arriving later in the afternoon (around 5 p.m.). This means that air travelers will have to wait till the train traveler has arrived so all guest can make use of the transfer. In case this situation occurs, Oosting-Horseriding proposes to combine 'business with pleasure' and take a nice cup of coffee, tea, or another drink and look forward to your great holiday in a relaxing way.
Airport: Béziers-Vias Airport Airport transfer available: Béziers-Vias Airport (US$88 per person) Additional charges may apply. You can request this in the next step.
