The riding program will provide each guest with twelve riding sessions to use in whatever way they prefer. You can organize the time/format of the rides with the instructor, however that will depend mostly on riding skill. The riding sessions can be used for riding lessons, jumping lessons (up to 60 cm), cross country rides as well as lunge lessons (beginners – 30 minute rides one-on-one with the instructor).
Please note that during the one week program, you can have a maximum of four jumping lessons.
The lessons will be conducted at four riding sites and two indoor dressage grounds. Furthermore, the team will only work with small groups and the horses will be matched individually to each rider. Under the supervision of an instructor, you can hone your skills in the outside riding arena or, during less sunny days, in the indoor riding arena. For those who are more advanced riders in horsemanship, there are beautiful, vast landscapes where the rides can provide great excitement and impressive view.
If you are a beginner your first lesson will last no more than 30 minutes and will be performed on a lunge line (a long line / lead rope held by the instructor). The horse will walk in a circle around the instructor who controls the horse’s speed and direction with their voice and gentle encouragement from a long whip. After a short warm-up on the back of the horse, the rider will learn how to gain balance in the saddle, how to sit correctly, and how to interact with the horse at walk and trot. The team will always choose very calm horses for the first lessons, properly trained and properly matched for age, height, and rider skills, and type of training. If you're not a beginner, there will be no lunge riding but you'll start with flat-work riding that will last for 45 minutes.
