Enjoy the unforgettable horse riding safari in the wilderness of Fell Lapland, the land of the reindeer! This riding safari takes you along sandy roads, through wild forests, by lakes, and over hills and fells. You will stay overnight in wilderness cabins without electricity or running water. You will also build up the fence for horses and sleep in a camp so you need to build up tents and make the camp ready together. During this safari, you will take care of your own horse and together, you will take care of your meals and cabin cleaning like in normal wilderness cabins. Horses are very safe and used to co-operate with different people.
During this holiday, you will stay for two nights in a cabin with shared facilities and four nights in wilderness cabin or tents without private facilities, running water, or electricity.
You will arrive at the airport and will be transferred to Palojärvi village to stay in a cabin with facilities. You will meet your guide and have an introduction of the next day’s program for your trail ride with original Finn horses. You will have dinner and stay overnight with shared facilities.
After breakfast, you will pack up your bags and horses' saddle bags. Together, you will make the horses clean and saddle them, the trail is ready to start. You will get to know the horses and routines; how to lead horses, how to start trotting or cantering, etc. On the first day, the route goes along sandy roads, hillocks, and hills in fell forest. On the midway, you will prepare a picnic lunch by the campfire. The camp for this night will be by the shore of Palojoki river. Here, you will have a tent camp where you will enjoy dinner and overnight stay in the cleanest air of Europe without any facilities.
After breakfast, you will pack up, prepare the horses, and continue riding. The terrain is mainly treeless sandy hillocks and fells with small, beautiful streams, lakes, bogs, and hills. You will have a picnic lunch along the way by a campfire. You will ride to a cabin in Näkkälä village and there, you will enjoy your dinner and sauna and stay overnight in a cozy cabin or tent, hammock, or under the sky.
After breakfast, you will pack up your bags and horses' saddle bags. Together, you will make the horses clean and saddle them, the trail is ready to start. During this day, the route will end to treeless fell tundra area. The route goes along sandy roads, hillocks, and hills. On the midway, you will prepare a picnic lunch by the campfire. The camp is in Pöyrisjärv and for two nights, your home will be very basic wilderness cabin without electricity or running water. After taking care of the horses, you will prepare dinner and then sleep well.
Today you will discover the surroundings of Pöyrisjärvi lake. Daily routines are as usual. No mobile connection!
After breakfast, you will take care of the horses and continue the riding back to the Palojärvi village. You will have a picnic lunch along the way by a campfire. In the late afternoon, you will return to the field. After taking care of the horses, you will go back to the cabin where you can enjoy sauna, nice dinner, and have a relaxing sleep.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport.
During this holiday, you will be served daily full board meals (only dinner on the first day and breakfast on the last) with Lapland’s specialties, including sauteed reindeer, salmon, white fish, perch, forest mushrooms and berries, etc.
