Farm Volk offer an opportunity to come to their farm with your horse and friends to enjoy a relaxed holiday, as if you were on your own farm. Horses will be placed in the box or on the pasture, whichever suits you better. Guided half-day or all-day riding will be arranged along the surrounding trails, while the necessary rest for horses and genuine home-cooked food on the way for riders are ensured.
The farm has several areas for rest (deck chairs, hammocks) or socializing with friends, whichever will suit you better after riding. If desired, you can also use the outside grill. In the summer months, they recommend swimming in the nearby Reka River.
For night rest, you can choose between sleeping on the hay on the farm or in apartments nearby (up to five kilometers away). Bathroom facilities and a fully equipped kitchen are also available on-site, at the farm.
The trails are designed so that they run mainly along forest and field paths, through interesting villages, and include stops at local providers. The intensity and pace of riding will be tailored to your skill, desires, and the well-being of horses. In case any problems arise, Farm Volk will gladly assist you (veterinarian, blacksmith, horse transport).
Arrival on the farm will be on Monday morning. After a short rest for the horses and a welcome drink for the riders, a tour around the farm followed by lunch are planned. After lunch, you will saddle the horses and return from riding in the evening. There follows dinner and preparations for the night rest according to your chosen accommodation. Riding time: 3 hours
After breakfast, on Tuesday, you will go on a guided all-day riding, with lunch somewhere along the way. After returning, there follows some rest and socializing at dinner. Riding time: 6 hours
Wednesday will be a bit more leisurely because you will ride only in the morning to give your horse a little break after lunch. The riders can spend the afternoon relaxing on the farm, resting, reading, or socializing. You can also visit a tourist attraction in the vicinity. Dinner will be set up on your own; if you enjoy barbecue, there is an outside grill on the farm. Riding time: 3 hours
On Thursday, you will be back on horseback shortly after breakfast. This time, you will have a camp lunch next to a stream, surrounded by the beautiful scenery. You will take advantage of it for a somewhat longer rest in peace and quiet. Afterwards, you will return to the farm in the afternoon and take care of the horses. You will leave together for a dinner in a very special ambiance. Riding time: 6 hours
Friday is a day for rest on the farm or exploring the surroundings, whichever you prefer. Apart from breakfast, food will be on your own expense. You can spend the afternoon riding in the arena, or a polygon can be set up for you on the meadow, although it is recommended that you let your horse rest for a while.
On Saturday, you will spend the whole day on horseback again, and dinner upon returning will be more than welcome. Riding time: 6 hours
Sunday is the last day on the farm. The morning will be dedicated to resting, walking, chatting, or swimming in the nearby river. After lunch, there will be time for packing, horse loading, and departure.
Born and raised on this farm Tomaž has a long-time experiences with horses; breeding as well as riding them in this beautiful well preserved Brkini area. He knows all hidden gems and the most beautiful view points. At the same time horse well-being and safety of riders are very important for him.
During your stay, you will be provided with meals according to the itinerary. A welcome drink will be offered, as well.
If, besides riding and resting, you would like to spend a part of your holiday visiting nearby attractions, Farm Volk can advise you on a selection of locations which will not leave you indifferent. If you are interested in visiting small local gems, which are difficult to find, they will take you there. Let them surprise you!
