During this horse riding holiday, you will be accommodated in a double / twin room with a private bathroom at Complejo rural y de ocio El Mas De Xetà for five nights and in a rural house in Lorcha for two nights. There will be a private kitchen at the Complejo rural y de ocio El Mas De Xetà.
You will arrive in Alicante or Valencia and will be transferred to the equestrian center for reception and accommodation. You will meet Miguel, owner of the center, as well as the experienced guide, facilities, and horses. After that, there will be an evaluation of the level of the rider. You will talk about the route, its difficulties, and distribution of the necessary materials. The pool is available to all. At night, you will taste a delicious typical Valencian cuisine menu in the restaurant.
After breakfast, you will ride through forest roads and paths in the Sierra de Benicadell. In the last section, you will arrive at the Greenway which was the railway line from Gandia to Alcoy passing through handmade tunnels and old Serpis river dams. In this typical Mediterranean climate, the pines are the predominant trees. You will enter with the horses in the river and stop by the river for a picnic. You will continue along the old railway and reach Lorcha. The land is flat with pine trees and Mediterranean vegetation surrounded by mountains. Dinner and accommodation will be in a beautiful rural house in Lorcha.
You will be riding along the Serpis river, going up among stone fruit trees (apricots, cherry trees, plums, olive trees, and peach trees), fruits that you can taste directly from the tree, depending on the time of year. Little by little, you will ascend and both the vegetation and the climate will change. When you reach the Barranco de la Encantada, you will stop for a picnic lunch. Along the path, you will find the El Gorg del Salt waterfall. You will return to Lorcha by another river road crossing orchards and ride between rosemary, thyme, and lavender. Dinner and stay overnight will be in the accommodation in Lorcha.
After a delicious breakfast, you will return to the Sierra de Benicadell, whose highest peak is at an altitude of 1,104 meters. The difficulty is medium. Surrounded by medium and high mountain, there are days when the clouds are below your route. On clear days, you can see the sea. You will stop to make a well-deserved lunch break for a picnic. After that, you will return to the equestrian center to relax in the pool and eat a typical paella of cauliflower and cod. You will cook all together with the help of the cook. You will be accompanied by the wines from the area.
Today, you will ride through the agricultural area of La Vall d'Albaida where you can enjoy a quiet and relaxed route through fields full of fruit trees. After a long road, you will arrive at the Bellús reservoir. It is an artificial irrigation reservoir that was built to prevent drought. You will enjoy barbecue next to the reservoir based on lamb chops and vegetables. In the afternoon, you will return to the equestrian center to relax in the pool and have a typical Valencian food.
You will start a beautiful 3-hour route enjoying beautiful landscapes to reach the Royal Monastery of San Jerónimo de Cotalba, declared a Good of Cultural Interest. You will make an interesting private visit to the monastery and its gardens and enjoy picnic lunch in the monastery. You will return by the same path to the equestrian center after 3 hours for a rest and enjoying the pool. Dinner will be at the restaurant.
On this last day, you will ride 6 kilometers until you reach Llutxent, a town of Muslim origin, built in the twelveth century. It is one of the oldest towns that has the festivals of Moors and Christians. You will have a private visit to the Convent of Corpus Christi, convent building that has its origins in a chapel of the thirteenth century and was renovated in the seventeenth century. Lunch will be at El Alter bar with Mediterranean tapas and wine from the land. You will then return to the equestrian center. After relaxing, a farewell party will end your stay with rich products of the land.
After breakfast, you will be wished a fond farewell from your team as you are transferred to either Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) or Valencia Airport (VLC) (the cost is not included).

During this horse riding holiday, you will ride through the lands of Valencian Community, Spain, including Sierra de Benicadell, Greenways (former railway along Serpis River), Lorcha, Serpis river, Barranco de la Encantada, La Vall d'Albaida, Royal Monastery of San Jerónimo de Cotalba, and Llutxent.
Throughout more than 800 years, the lands of the Valencian Community in the region of La Safor, El Comtat and La Vall d'Albaida were inhabited by Muslims, Moors and Christians due to its strategic location between the sea and inland the Iberian Peninsula which was a territory in continuous disputes. All of this is reflected in the civil, military and religious buildings, with walled defensive systems that stretch along these towns among beautiful natural landscapes, mountains, and forests.
Encantada Canyon's entrance is lined with cherry trees that lead up to grooves carved into the limestones formations of the Sierra de Cantacuc. Along with the path, there is Gorg of Salt Waterfall, the place where the legend of “La Encantada” comes from.
The town of Llutxent or Luchente is Muslim origin and was built in the twelveth century. The Convent of Corpus Christi is a construction which was dated in the 15th century and built at the place where the miracle of the Sacred Body took place.
During this horse riding holiday, you will be served full-board meals, wine, water, and soft drinks. You will also have packed lunches en-route.
