During this horse riding holiday, you will be accommodated in a lodge at Moshav Sharona on day 1 and 2, at Jordan Valley on day 3, and at Kibbutz Dalia on day four to six. The accommodations have carefully chosen by their sleeping locations, cleanliness, and comfort. All amenities will always include hot showers and running toilets.



This horse riding holiday is a mounted adventure packed with intensive horse riding through the beautiful landscapes of the Menashe plain, Carmel mountain range, and the Jezreel Valley. You will ride up majestic Mountain Tabor and Mountain Carmel, explore the ruins of Tel Meggido which is the site of Armageddon, and swim with the horses in the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River.

You will also get to know the different ethnic groups inhabiting this area including the charming Druze and engaging Circassians. Furthermore, this horse riding holiday includes walking tours of Nazareth and the Old City of Jerusalem and their colorful markets.


Day 1: Saturday

Arrival in the early evening will be at Moshav Sharona in the lower Galilee. After introductions and explanations followed by dinner, you will then enjoy an enlightening lecture on the history of Israel. You will sleep in a cozy country lodge located on the Moshav.

Day 2: Sunday (18 kilometers / 11 miles)

Today, you will set off for your first day of trail riding in the Galilee’s beautiful natural landscape. After matching horses and tack with riders, you will leave the stables in Shedmoat Devora to ride along the tributaries of the Tabor Stream and go past Kfar Keesh. You will eventually come to the Tabor Stream and visit Tel Rechesh where according to some sources, part of King Solomon’s legendary stables was located. Then, you will canter in almond orchards and fields and return to Shedmoat Devora.

Following a short break, you will be taken to Mountain Tabor to visit the Church of Transfiguration. Next, you will continue on to Nazareth for a walking tour of the holy sites and markets. You will enjoy the unique sights, aromas, and tastes of this intriguing city. Furthermore, a delicious dinner will be served in an authentic Bedouin village. Then, you will return to Sharona for the night.

Day 3: Monday (22 kilometers / 15 miles)

Your day will begin with a ride in the remarkable Sirin Heights to enjoy the stunning natural scenery along its streams and around its springs. You will ride to the lookout point of Mitzpe Ayloat for a breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley. Riding in the direction of Jordan, you will pass through the Yaela Grove, the site where Jael, wife of Heber the Kenite, killed Sisera.

You will then cross the fertile Jordan Valley heading towards the Jordan River. Upon reaching the Jordan River, you will cross with your horses (you will swim in the river in the summer time) and then ride to Kibbutz Degania. Kibbutz Degania is the world’s first kibbutz. There, you will learn all about the unique way of Kibbutz Degania life. Today, you will sleep in a beautiful lodge in the Jordan Valley.

Day 4: Tuesday (25 kilometers / 13.5 miles)

Today’s horseback riding adventure will begin in the pastoral Jordan Valley. You will again cross the Jordan River to climb up Yavniel Stream to return to the Galilee. You will drink from the “holy” waters of Yavniel spring and then ride past Ulem Spring towards Ein Hida (Hida Spring).

From there, you will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Galilee while you canter to the riding center in Shedmot Devora. You will spend the night at the beautiful lodge on Kibbutz Dalia.

Day 5: Wednesday (15 kilometers / 9.5 miles)

In the morning, you will ride through the rolling hills and groves of the Ramot Menashe National Park. On the way back, you will stop to explore a cave used for training in 1947 by the Palmach which is the elite fighting unit of the underground Hagannah army.

In the afternoon, you will drive to Tel Megiddo, the supposed site of Armageddon which is the epic battle associated with the end of time. Once an important city on an ancient trade route, Tel Megiddo only ruins remain as testimony to the peoples that inhabited this site for centuries now. You will investigate the archeological ruins and learn about life in biblical Israel. You will spend the night at Kibbutz Dalia.

Day 6: Thursday (25 kilometers / 15.5 miles)

The majestic Carmel region will be the location of this full day adventure. A ride up in mountain Carmel will bring you to El-Muharrakah, the site where the Prophet Elijah supposedly slaughtered the prophets of Baal. The views are as amazing as the biblical stories. After touring in the Carmelite Monastery, you will go down into the Jezreel Valley to the Kishone Stream and then back to HaZorea. You will sleep on Kibbutz Dalia.

Day 7: Friday

This day will be dedicated to Jerusalem. You will travel by car from Kibbutz Dalia to Jerusalem. You will be driven to the Old City to follow the Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus walked on his way to crucifixion. Along the way, you will visit the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions.

Being Friday, you will experience the special atmosphere of the Holy City getting ready for the Sabbath. Jerusalem on Friday evening is the perfect time to end your Israeli experience. At around 17:00, you will finish this horse riding holiday program. You will be dropped off in Tel Aviv or at Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) at around 18:00.

The horses

Sirin Riders uses only well-trained horses accustomed to trail riding in this horse riding holiday. The horses are a mixture of quarter horses and local Arabian horses and trained in Western riding. They are well groomed, in great shape, and perfectly suited for horseback vacations.

The staffs will match you with a horse and tack according to the information you provide when you sign up for this horse riding holiday. The staffs can provide a more spirited horse for riders with greater riding proficiency and the pair horses which will be easily handled for less experienced riders. Furthermore, the horses will use quality western tack made in the USA for comfort and ease.

Notes: Sirin Riders can also provide pure Arabians horses from Sirin Arabians breeding program upon request. Furthermore, the staffs can also arrange for English tack if given notice ahead of time. If you would prefer to use your own tack, this is possible only if it will fit the horse the staffs have assigned you.

Riding level

Since the overall success of a horse riding holiday depends on all riders having the skills to safely perform at the pace expected, your riding skill can either make or break your horse riding holiday.

Therefore, riders with insufficient skills will be a danger to themselves and to others. As a result, it will be crucial that you be experienced and fit enough to ride from 30 to 40 kilometers / 18 to 25 miles a day.


Every horse tour is led by at least one licensed riding instructor. All of the guides have extensive knowledge in horseback riding as well as in the history, geography and archeology of Israel. They also have a good command of English.

Non-rider information

Non-riders can join the trip by riding in the escort car. Sirin Riders must know ahead of time if non-riders will be joining. The cost is 1750 USD per non-rider.

Few roads connect the communities populating the Galilee. This remoteness has allowed distinct cultures to continue on uninterrupted for generations.

There are cities, past and present, of biblical importance calling to be explored. Druze and Circassian villages maintaining their unique ways of life. All of this occurs against a backdrop of vivid natural scenery. And many Arab towns who welcome visitors with their friendly smiles and culinary delights. Riding makes you hungry. The staff will prepare healthy, fresh, and filling meals. This horse riding holiday is not kosher, but no pork will be served on this trip. The staffs can accommodate vegetarians and other special dietary requests including kosher if you give prior notice.

As for drinks, there is nothing more satisfying than a cold beer after a long ride. Usually, some of the meals will include beer, wine or liquor in dinner. These drinks are free of charge. However, when dining in Arab restaurants, no alcoholic beverages are allowed.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

The nearest airport is Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV). Furthermore, you can take flight using Arkia Israeli Airlines, El Al Israel Airlines, British Airways, and Deutsche Lufthansa AG which provide a flight to Israel. Please check the link of aforementioned airlines for more detailed information.

You have the option of being picked up at 16:45 from Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) or 16:00 from a hotel in Tel Aviv on the first day of the trip. This service costs an additional 35 USD per person and it is necessary to notify Sirin Riders ahead of time where you would like to be picked up. Furthermore, it is also possible to arrive independently at Kfar Tavor by 19:00.
