Son Menut is an estate on the Island of Majorca, designed for and adapted to the high standard of equestrian tourism. It is located in the countryside near Son Negre, five kilometers from Felanitx. Son Negre is an area where its inhabitants historically worked and lived in the countryside, hence Son Menut is surrounded by nature in a completely rural environment.
At Son Menut, you will find a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. In the very heart of Majorca, they offer Mediterranean cuisine and a close and friendly service. You can check in from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. However, the rooms are ready from 3:00 p.m. Check-out has to be before 12:00 p.m. (leaving room) but you can wait longer on the finca if needed.

Standard double room
This type of room (15 square meters) is perfect for only travelers or couples looking to stay in the rustic surroundings of the Island. It is a fully equipped room with a full bathroom and bathtub, hairdryer, twin bed, satellite TV, minibar, independent telephone, air-conditioner, heating, fan, and safe. Most of them have a balcony and views of the terrace and pool. There are five standard double rooms, decorated in the traditional style of the Island.
Superior double room
The Superior room (26 square meters) is for those who wish to enjoy their holidays as a couple or family without missing any details. It has a maximum capacity of four people. This room has a full bathroom with shower, hairdryer, twin bed, satellite TV, minibar, separate telephone, air conditioner, heating, and safe. All of them have a balcony and chairs to relax with views of the garden. There are six Superior double rooms decorated in a modern style and well-equipped.

Son Menut has a comprehensive wellness service such as a Jacuzzi, banco de calor, Finnish sauna, massage rooms, sauna turca, and escocesa shower.

Program
The program includes four hours of riding lessons (to choose between dressage or jumping), two hours of trail, a welcome tour around the finca, and three hours of workshop interactive presentations. Structured and interactive sessions are designed to create an environment for meaningful understanding of horse care and welfare. The first one-hour workshop is an essential course in first aid procedures. You will:
- Gain a basic overview of what’s normal to recognize when there is a problem
- Common problems you will face
- Learn how to administer first-aid
- Lean essential help to provide until a professional arrives
The second one-hour workshop is an introduction to horse behavior. Understanding horse behavior is a must to be able to identify horse behavior problems which are a common complaint of horse owners. The third one-hour workshop is about equine conformation, biomechanics, and beyond. Emphasis on functional conformation- recognizing that while a horse may not have perfect conformation, it must be fit for its intended purpose.
This talk intends to equip the participants to evaluate not just the ideal conformation, but how specific conformational traits can influence a horse’s risk of injury, areas prone to tension, and overall biomechanics. After every presentation, Francina will answer all the questions the participants may have. Participants need a minimum of five years of riding experience.

Francina Barceló Oliver
Francina Barceló Oliver is an equine-specialized veterinary surgeon. She graduated from the University of Madrid (Alfonso X el Sabio), Spain, in 2012 and moved to Ireland to complete an internship in neonatal intensive care. She subsequently completed a rotational equine internship at the University of Liverpool before moving to Scotland to start an equine surgery residency program with a combined master's degree in July 2015. The focus of her master's thesis was the diagnosis and progression of recurrent laryngeal neuropathy.

Food
On this holiday, you will be provided with meals on a full-board basis included in the price. Son Menut offers Mediterranean cuisine. A la carte restaurant is available on request. Enjoy an indoor restaurant or a sunny terrace with views. Son Menut also produces their own wine and beef meat. Bar-restaurant a la carte is open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesdays is only a special barbeque menu for dinner and a menu for lunch.
