"Amazing adventure "
Great staff, friendly, welcoming, very experienced, good variety of activities regardless of weather (fantastic indoor arena if it's raining) - couldn't recommend this enough

"Fabulous experience "
Very encouraging for someone who has little or no horse riding experience and learning horsemanship was wonderful.

The above questions listed the wrong instructor. We had Julia, Rosie and Verity. All were excellent but particularly Julia. Lots of 1 on 1 instruction and guidance. Very focused on building trust with the horse before actually riding it. Exceeded my expectations!!

"Horse Riding Experience"
The accommodation was excellent as was the food. The horsemanship and interaction with the horses was something we did not expect and my daughters (9 and 7) derived great value from this as did I. The ladies instructing particularly Verity and Julia were excellent.

"Fantastic as well as disappointing "
The ladies who was in charge of the riding school was absolutely amazing, they really made our holiday they communicated with us to our needs, they was more then fantastic with my children helping them to get confident around the horses. We learned so much from them in just 3 days and could not fault one thing about the girls. They made sure we had the best holiday and really made us feel welcome, they also threw a little party for my son with the Shepland pony’s as it was his birthday and they brought doughnutss and a badge in for him too. Overall our experience with the girls was amazing if it wasn’t for them being so amazing I would have really been upset about this holiday.

"Best place for horse riding holidays "
I love the beauty of Cornwall and the owners and people at Old Vicarage were so fantastic that I only thought about when to come back

Julie the horse riding instructor was excellent. She was very patient with myself and the horses. She taught me a lot about horses and their psychology that I did not have a clue about. I was able to connect and understand the horses in a way I never had before. Julie was so down to earth and a great teacher. John was the owner not the instructor and was very professional. Rosie and John own the B&B as well as the stables and Rosie was really great, very friendly and welcoming and she cooks a great breakfast.

"Not as expected"
The instructor, Julia (not John) was absolutely fantastic and she made the experience worthwhile despite all the other disappointments. Also what’s unique here is how much emphasis there is in bonding with the horses and horsemanship work which not many places do. The horses are well cared for and live in a herd. We learnt a lot about horses behaviours and psychology

"Great natural-horsemanship centred holiday"
I really enjoyed my riding holiday at the Old Vicarage / Churchtown Morgans. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, Rosie’s full English breakfasts were excellent (and the lunches were pretty good too – particularly the homemade burgers!), but the time spent with the horses was the real highlight. The obviously well-cared-for, well-mannered and well-trained horses were a joy to spend time with (both on the ground and in the saddle). It was great to learn their calm and practical natural horsemanship approach. As someone who rides regularly but doesn’t have their own horse, I enjoyed the chance to be involved in catching, grooming and tacking up, not just riding. The horsemanship work we did on the ground in the arena was mostly new to me, and I got a real sense of achievement on getting Ruby to successfully complete the course Julia (my instructor) had set up. A huge thanks to Julia, too, for not only being a great Western-riding teacher (which is more different to the English style I am familiar with than I had realised), sharing her considerable knowledge and improving my horsemanship, but also providing friendly company on my ‘Billy No Mates’ holiday (thanks to Jenna and Toni for their company too). I definitely hope to return at some point in the future!

A really lovely short break. Helpful, friendly and genuinely welcoming people at the yard and B and B made it a great experience as I was travelling alone for the first time!
It was a total bonus that the horses are mostly Morgan’s and I really enjoyed the experience of riding them. Really beautiful and well behaved and most importantly super well cared for.
The food was great and the local pub a good pit stop for dinner. I would really recommend this place for the hospitality and riding experience.

"Amazing few days and well put together"
The whole package was fantastic. The B&B was perfect, granted maybe a little dated but to be honest it really didn't matter; it's exactly what I expected and more. The food was excellent. The horse riding was extremely well organised and very relaxed, I honestly can't recommend this enough. I went with my daughter who frankly is a very competent rider, I haven't ridden for many years - it didn't matter, the girls made sure we were happy and safe and we will definitely visit again.

"3 day riding holiday"
It is hard to know where to start with what I liked because the whole holiday exceeded my expectations. The instructor (Julia) was extremely knowledgeable and taught me all sorts of 'extras' about horse psychology, the history of Morgans and training a horse in the Western style on top of the actual groundwork and riding.
The facilities were excellent - a brand new, light and airy indoor school and a very well kept yard. Rosie (owner and manager) clearly cares deeply for her horses and this is reflected in the entire ethos of the stables. All the horses have retained a zest for life and have a clear desire to engage and interact.
In addition, as a lone female traveller I was made to feel very welcome and everyone on the yard helped me feel included. It's a nice touch that Rosie provides lunch each day. We all ate together and I was able to have a good chat and hear about the different horses, the history of the stables etc.
