Location

The tour will take place in Georgia. Tusheti and Vashlovani are two of Georgia’s most remote and breathtaking regions, each offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Tusheti National Park lies high in the Caucasus Mountains and is accessible only during the warmer months. It is known for its dramatic scenery, medieval villages like Omalo and Dartlo, lush alpine meadows, and centuries-old shepherding traditions. This is a protected and pristine area where time seems to stand still.

Vashlovani National Park, located in the southeastern part of Georgia, presents a completely different landscape. Known as the “Georgian Savannah,” it features semi-desert canyons, open steppes, wild pistachio trees, and diverse wildlife, including rare birds of prey. It’s wild, open, and unexpectedly beautiful. What makes this journey truly special is that you cross the entire Alazani Valley, the heart of Kakheti, Georgia’s famous wine region.

Riding through vineyards, historic villages, and rolling countryside, you will experience the full variety of Georgian landscapes - from fertile lowlands to high alpine peaks. In all regions, you will stay in traditional Tushetian guesthouses, enjoy homemade meals, and be welcomed with warm local hospitality. There are no big hotels or crowds - just silence, starry skies, and the peaceful rhythm of life in the mountains and valleys. Nearby, travelers can explore:

  • Ancient stone towers and hidden mountain ruins
  • Natural mineral springs and caves
  • Seasonal shepherd settlements still active today
  • Endless trails ideal for horseback riding and hiking
