Accommodations will be at farms and eco hotels. These farms are mainly agriculture and ranching places. You will stay in multiple accommodations with rooms for two, three, or four people. Couples are accommodated separately.


Day 1: Transfer (Bogotá - La Pradera) and Riding (La Pradera - Alto del Vino)

On your first day, you will ride through the ancient Yaky trail, starting from a cold weather “Tibares” trees forest and cold and clear creeks until you reach 3.000 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, you will pass through “Alto del Vino” that leads the way to the foggy forest.

Day 2: Alto del Vino - San Francisco

On this day, you will ride through royal trails that make part of ancient merchant roads. You will ride through rivers and creeks and see a drastic change in vegetation until you reach San Francisco, where mountains and the tropic overtake the scenery.

Day 3: San Francisco - La Vega

After drinking a delicious traditional coffee and having a nutritious breakfast, you will start riding your horses. On every horse step, you can feel the weather and vegetation changing in between tropical trees and the smell of hot weather in the air. You will have a native mix of meats on the riverside when you reach La Vega while the sun sets on the horizon.

Day 4: La Vega - Nimaima

Bridle paths will lead the way on this day. On your way, you will see natural waterfalls where you can take an outdoor shower. In the afternoon, you can walk through Nimaima and drink a cold beverage in one of its historical corners.

Day 5: Nimaima - Tobia

You will have a typical ride from Nimaima that passes through small paths with the authentic landscape of Gualivá. You will pass through rivers that descend from the Andes through the central range until you reach the torrential Negro river in Tobia. Tobia is lovely, a place where you can do all kinds of extreme sports like boating, rafting, canopy, and trekking.

Day 6: Tobia - Utica

The last day of horseback riding will be through mountains and sugar cane crops. During this route, the climate is very warm and the tropical forest takes over the way. You will pass through creeks and the sounds of crickets will lead the way. In the afternoon, you will have a well-deserved rest with a typical mix of meats by a pool. Have a goodbye dinner and live music.

Day 7: Transfer (Utica - Bogotá)


Horses used on your journey are Colombian Criollo working horses. They are strong and good riding horses. They are comfortable walking horses that respect and obey the rider. You can see the strength of the horses while passing through bridle paths, plains, and mountains.

Riding saddles

You will use special “Tereques” for riding. They are soft and well-sized chairs for any rider. ​Each saddle has saddlebags and a raincoat.

He was born a horse, people, and wildlife lover. He is a person that will be in charge of making every adventure unforgettable. He is the best and friendliest friend on the trip. He lives the dream traveling by horse and is a real expert in Colombian “Criollo” horses.


You will enjoy horse riding through Gualivá trail in Colombia. The province of Gualivá is near to Bogotá, makes part of the Colombian Andes, and is located over the central range. Gualivá is characterized by its majestic geography composed of mountains, rivers, and creeks. This is a place where you can feel the climate change on every horse step and you will pass from 700 to 3.000 meters above sea level. It’s a historical route that was part of an ancient merchant trail that communicated Honda and Bogotá through stunning bridle paths.


You will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day, from the first-day lunch until the last-day breakfast. Gastronomy is one of Valle Verde Horseriding's strong cards and a principal attraction in the journey. During your trip, food is always traditional from Colombia. There will be herbed trout, “sancocho”, mixed meats, and lunch at riversides. Fruits, juices, and traditional and local desserts from every place are also available. Meals are always served with a beverage.

There will be an open bar for all the trip that can be purchased on the first day and will be active on special occasions. The price for this service costs an additional 110 USD.
