The accommodation that is offered will be different from the normal hotel style accommodation because the guests will share a yurt. The yurt was the foundation of the nomad lifestyle in the past where one family lived their everyday life on the big sprawling pastures. It’s easy to take apart and very portable in comparison to a normal house. Many people think its a tent but that is far from the truth. The structure of a yurt is very stable as it needed to endure the huge storms and the form plays to this necessity.
At night through the opened chimney cover, one can enjoy sleeping by starlight. This kind of living is extremely close to nature and is still used as a common housing option in Middle Asia to this day. The team will set up their yurt together on the day of arrival. You must bring a sleeping mat as well as a sleeping bag or you can rent one from Vermes Balázs. The shower and the restroom are separated in outside the housing which also gives the feel of the nomad lifestyle.
Every program will run in the great outdoors and will change only if the weather turns. The programs will offer an active rest with a lot of motion. The main goal is learning to use the bow and other weapon techniques along with horseback riding from professional trainers. The equestrian training will contain the basic groundwork with horses, bareback riding, and riding in a saddle. Vermes Balázs has seven very kind horses and one pony in the service of the guests. Vermes Balázs puts a big emphasis on team spirit and this is felt through the team building games and calm bonfire discussions under the stars. There is always the option to participate in handmade craft activities.
The day will start with morning exercises and stretching if the team desires and continue with breakfast. The rest of the morning will be filled with archery, weapon training, and horseback riding. After a delicious lunch, there will be options for handmade crafts and participating in team games where there is always much laughter and fun. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner and as the day comes to a close, there will be always a new unique experience followed by a bonfire underneath a starlit sky. You may listen and meditate to ancient tribal drum sounds in the traditional yurt and enjoy the rich culture as you learn folk dance lessons.
The Vermes farm is placed in south-west Slovakia in the region called Csallóköz near the city Kolárovo on the coast of the Vág River. In the past, this land was covered mainly with marshes and many floods occurred. Nowadays, farmlands dominate this area but thanks to the river that the character of the flood basin has been preserved.
You will be provided daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Vermes family puts a big emphasis on the quality of the food that is served as well. The provided food is made mainly from organic produce from the local market in addition to their own garden and animals raised at the farm. Vermes Balázs serves traditional Hungarian meals prepared fresh by the family. Nobody can resist the smell of the Hungarian pie baking in the oven. Vermes Balázs provides full meal service with two hot meals daily. If you have a vegetarian diet, please let Vermes Balázs know in advance.
