Wilder Ways offers you an opportunity to take their experienced horses on exhilarating riding holidays through some of the lesser known wilds of Scotland.
Cara is a rural surveyor by trade but her true love has always been horses. Through Wilder Ways, she is lucky enough to live her joy and hopefully helps others to live theirs. She started riding at the age of 6 and she's been hooked ever since. She loves learning about her horse and their partnership and has been really fortunate to have had some great learning experiences over the years; starting off with Pearl Cranna, her riding instructor, lifelong friend, and mentor to more recently training with the natural horse-master, Peter Campbell in Canada.
Nikki has lived in the West of Scotland for over 20 years and worked as a freelance botanist, traveling and walking in many of the most remote and beautiful parts of the country. Riding had always been a big part of her life and so she walked with potential 'horse adventures' in her mind. She was lucky enough to be able to come back to riding about 10 years ago and to use this knowledge of Scotland's hidden landscapes alongside her horse obsession. She has also been able to develop her own abilities through learning some of the techniques of natural horsemanship.

This 3day ride surpassed our expectations to celebrate my husband and my milestone birthdays. Cara and her partner have chosen a very special part of the world to ride in. They’ve worked closely to support the Knoydart sustainable community to provide an experience of local fresh fish, brewed beer and hospitality. Everyone on the team was so helpful matching our riding abilities well, with our horses. We rode through some breathtaking country and were challenged, riding through rivers, up and down embankments, gentle controlled canters, and playing on the flats. We met some lovely people. I would highly recommend Wilderways and hope to return and do another ride with some day!
