I visited Springhill Stables in mid-April for a three-day trail riding holiday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hosts, the setting, and the horses were all exceptional. A special thank you to Dawn, who guided me on the rides each day and was an outstanding host throughout. I was smiling on every single hack—even during three hours of rain on one of them. (My advice: you’re in North Wales—come prepared for all weather and pack every bit of waterproof clothing you own!).

The scenery is absolutely stunning, and trail riding is something I’ve wanted to do since I first learned to ride over 15 years ago. This trip not only lived up to that long-held ambition—it exceeded all expectations.

I would highly recommend the stables to anyone looking for a truly memorable riding experience.

We had the very best time at Springhill Farm. Dawn was our instructor for two days and she was incredible, building our confidence, sharing knowledge of the area and horses, going over and beyond with lending me her jacket! The horses were so amazing, well looked after and so responsive to us novices. On day three we had Liz looking after us and I can honestly say what amazing ladies they were, a true credit to the busy. Thank you for the very best experience xxx

Location stunning. Scenery and wildlife unbeatable and second to none. (and that’s from a proud Northumbrian) cottage was all you needed clean warm and comfortable. The owners and staff are hard working and passionate. They run a wonderful business with such lovely horses and it’s obvious their passion for their animals. Myself and my wife felt welcomed and relaxed. No deadlines or pressure, just a relaxing atmosphere. We are both 60. My wife has ridden before but I had not. I was nervous but shouldn’t have been. I was out on my pal Maggie for three unforgettable days watching the red Kites swirl below us as we climbed and descended wonderful valleys and scenery. Thank you Liz you were a wonderful and talented host. And also Chris for our first day. Both very knowledgeable. We will be back. Neither me or ros can’t recall having such a memorable holiday. Riding and spending time with the lovely horses was the best thing!!! The instructors were great and the organiser was really helpful as well. And it's such a nice location:)

What a wonderful location and equestrian centre. The people were so nice, the horses were fabulous, well behaved and obviously really well cared for. Would highly recommend Springhill Farm if you love riding, they cater for all levels. Plenty of bathrooms and showers despite the shared accommodation. All the trail leads (Liz, Ellie, Polly) were brilliant and looked after the groups

The horses are well cared for and paired with riders based on ability. There are opportunities to tack up, groom and spend time with your horse before the ride out into the beautiful countryside. There are a number of trails available.

The horses were great and the scenery was beautiful. I felt safe and confident with the instructors and loved cantering across the fields! I rode Ted who was very calm and looked after me all weekend as a beginner :) I stayed with a lovely group of people in the bunkhouse, and the accomodation was warm and clean - will definitely be back with friends!

Beautiful quiet area. Lovely mixed riding over fields and through forests. Our lead rider Dawn was great a really interesting and knowledge person, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was super clean and warm. The horse well suited and matched to riders ability. I was very impressed with the whole set up.

There aren't enough stars to award for this place. Wonderful scenery, great staff and the most amazing horses. We stayed in the 2 person cabin and it was great for our needs and more than sufficient. The trails and environment for riding in is rewarding and enjoyable to explore and challenging enough to keep you on your toes, but with plenty of space to really stretch the horses legs. There is a pub and shops close enough to get to, and a decent takeaway on JustEat for delivery as well

Simply fabulous experience with top notch staff who were a delight to spend time with. Horses are seriously well cared for and loved and excellently matched to riders. Life long memories made for me and my daughter..I can't thank you enough. See you again very soon.

My daughter loved every minute. She got to meet some beautiful horses and canter in open fields, spending the whole day outdoors doing what she loves in a stunning location. Horses are well looked after, staff are lovely and scenery is stunning. Will definitely be returning.

What can I say, my time at Springhill was an absolute dream!

Beautiful countryside location in Wales. A wonderful team of instructors and very well looked after horses. Daily trail rides through the beautiful fields, that catered to the needs of the group. I even got to stay a little bit longer than the 3 days I initially booked, and the team were flexible with the arrangements, so I got exactly what I needed for my holiday.

I couldn't have asked for a better getaway!

The people.. the horses, the Location!! Everything was perfect. Liz matched myself and My friend Laura with our horses and she couldn’t have done better. I rode Tegwyn, a beautiful chestnut welsh D with a flaxen mane and tail.. what a vibe he was! The horses know their job, and the canters and gallops were amazing!! The location was incredible and the sun was shining for us! The accommodation had everything we needed, it was basic and clean. Nice touches such as washing up liquid, liquid soap in the bathrooms, sugar, tea. When we were having a picnic ride we forgot to bring foil and straight away, Liz brought over a roll of it. She also rung ahead to a restaurant and asked for a special touch to be added to our meal for our friend,whose birthday it was that day. Liz also recommended restaurants to us.. very helpful! The horses were so very well looked after, and the grooms were all so friendly! Went home with such a happy feeling! Also big shout out to one of our trek leaders Julie.. she was so much fun! We had an amazing first 3 hr trek with her! Many canters and gallops! Would so recommend going to Springhill farm.. you can also go back for just a day ride if you wish.. which we will do! Thanks to everyone ! Awesome!!!

We had a fabulous time and will be going back! Beautiful and well behaved horses, everyone super friendly and helpful. Able to get involved with tacking up, grooming etc. not just riding. Gorgeous location. Fantastic!

I went here on a 3 day trail ride holiday and stayed in the bunkhouse (private room in shared house) and it was absolutely wonderful. The accommodation was basic but beautiful and the horse riding was out of this world. The horses are so well looked after and gorgeous to ride (I am a novice and had Savannah). The scenery is stunning and so vast, with a new gorgeous view at every turn. Our instructor Dawn was fantastic; very attentive, helpful and experienced and improved all our skills and confidence. It was lovely to be a part of getting the horses tacked up and brushing, washing and feeding them, and it's clear they're all so well cared for. It's such a lovely and peaceful place, I would highly recommend a riding holiday here!

The countryside is simply breathtaking. We felt we were in safe hands and all the horses are excellent and well behaved. We rode for hours and I really enjoyed it although my body is aching all over!

I was honest from the beginning admitting that I am only a novice rider and our instructor appreciated that. This whole experience has been an amazing confidence boost for me.

I arrived on Friday to quickly get ready and go to the barn to meet my horse Ted. What a gentleman he was all weekend. Our first assessment ride was out on a trail and we all had the chance to canter. I was a bit nervous as hadn’t done two point in a while. Dawn and Polly were fantastic and very encouraging.

Day 2 we were with Dawn and Charlotte and off with our saddle bags and picnics. What a day! We rode for a couple of hours , canters included and stopped for lunch in the hills. Stunning scenery and the weather was amazing.

I was again a bit nervous and stayed at the back of the ride for the first few canters and then up front with Dawn for a couple. She filmed us all charging up the hill and we were so thrilled.

Day 3, the same D and C and another trail. None of the trails were a disappointment. They are all challenging and stunning. I got to lead the canter on this one and Ted was loving his life and took off. What a thrill!! he was the bees knees after that!

You can also be hands on with the horses. I tacked, washed, lead out and fed Ted.

Accommodation was great. I stayed in the little cottage with another lady who is now one of the friends I made.

I will definitely be revisiting and hopefully meeting up with the same crew. 5 Star *****

The whole experience was excellent. Even before I committed I got some helpful messages from Sue and once I arrived the organisation was efficient and smooth. I loved the riding, all the horses were gorgeous and our Instructor Dawn was professional, sensitive to different people needs and extremely inspirational. The rides were amazing, the welsh countryside was beautiful and all the horses seemed happy and well cared for. We bonded really well as a group and got to do lots of cantering and galloping which was so exhilarating. I would highly recommend Springhill Farm to anyone looking for a 3 day horse riding break.

If you want a riding holiday to give you the biggest smile on your face and the fondest of memories, this is the place for you!

All the staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make sure everyone in the group felt safe and confident before and during the rides. We completed an initial assessment ride in the first afternoon to match the rider with the horse with the opportunity to walk, trot and canter through the lovely scenery. Over the next couple of days we took a picnic lunch and got to see the most fantastic and varied landscape with our mounts. I was looked after by Donny, a lovely piebold. He was so responsive and safe especially when we all launched into a few open field gallops and many canters 😁

The holiday was also a great place to meet like minded people and we became friends overnight.

This has been a superb long weekend break and I will definitely be back for the all day ride with a pub stop, can't wait!

From arriving to leaving we were welcomed and enjoyed every aspect of horsemanship. Our weekend started with a lovely ride around stunning views, Liz was helpful and very good at putting any nerves at easy. The next two days were led by Dawn who was just brilliant along with her righthand lady Charlotte, who was fabulous taking us out for some fun around stunning countryside and picturesque scenery for a picnic lunch. With lots of lovely canters and even a gallop in! And for someone who is an intermediate rider but gets quite anxious, Dawn was just brilliant at getting me out of my head and enjoying the experience and having fun! The facilities were great and the horses were stunning and so happy doing their job! They really do have the best of both worlds. Working a few hours a day and out grazing after a hearty meal once finished. I rode Libra who was just a gentleman with a good button when needed. My husband ride Llety who was just as happy to step it up when asked. All in all just the most incredible, confidence building weekend and cannot recommend enough!! We are already planning our next trip!

I was matched with a horse who was perfect for me and I had an amazing time riding him all weekend. All the hacks were well thought out and suited the capabilities of the individuals in the group. Lots of cantering and galloping up the hills. Our ride leader Dawn was fantastic and really worked hard to make us all happy and entertained.

Couldn’t have been a better weekend.

Only slight downside was the accomodation which had a few minor issues.

I was able to do lots of cantering which is what i wanted.

What a fantastic set up! My granddaughter and I had the most fun we’ve had in ages.

My granddaughter, aged 12 years, was so excited for this holiday, I on the other hand was a little nervous as I hadn’t ridden in over 40 years but it turned out I had no reason to be. The staff were so reassuring, knowledgeable and encouraging. The horses are so well looked after, impeccably behaved, responsive and clearly love their job. I felt totally safe and to my surprise was cantering through open fields on the second day. What a rush 😆

We did sooooo much riding. We went out for well over an hour the afternoon we arrived. Went out for a couple of hours twice the next day and then a day ride with picnic on the last day. Surprised I had the strength to walk afterwards 😂

The scenery was so beautiful too. Fields, hills, birdsong, and above all no traffic noise at all. Heaven!

The instructors were fantastic. Lis, Dawn, Ellie and Charlotte were amazing and so friendly.

I can honestly say if you love horses and fancy riding through beautiful open countryside on amazingly behaved horses, with a team that boost your confidence, then you have got to give Springhill farm a go. You won’t regret it!!

Had the most amazing few days here! Both Lis and Dawn were incredible, taking us on beautiful hacks with some long canters and even a gallop! I felt at home which can often be difficult as a solo rider and the yard girls were great too. I fell in love with the horse I rode Jack, and felt like they picked perfectly for my ability. Thank you so so so so much!

The whole trip from start to finish was outstanding. Dawn and Lis were superb instructors, they took time to assess our riding ability and pair us with suitable horses, they are kind, encouraging and supportive ensuring safety is always a priority.

The horses were well cared for and clearly love their jobs, the scenery on the hacks is just breathtaking, it’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

My daughter and I have mixed riding abilities but they were able to cater for all abilities ensuring everyone had a great time. It’s the most relaxed iv ever felt on a horse and possibly ever in life!

If you are wondering if you should book Springhill Farm Riding School I would highly recommend it, it was honestly the best experience iv ever had in my life and I made the most amazing memories with my daughter. We will definitely be going back.

A professional yet friendly ethos and environment. The scenery for the long rides is spectacular. Rides and lessons are tailor made to the level and skill of the rider.

Dawn and Chris provided expert and constructive instruction - we learnt so much about horses and riding and the rationale behind technique and instruction.

The combination of dedicated lessons and then practicing during long riding sessions is a good balance and helps to consolidate skill and build confidence.

There is an emphasis on developing confidence and stretching ability with appropriate risk assessment. We were always provided choice and included in decisions.

The horses were fantastic -we rode on Donny, Ronny and Ted. All of the family at Springhill welcomed us and we were made to feel completely at home.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and fitting to an activity holiday.

The entire experience from start to end was fantastic. Gorgeous, well behaved and well looked after ponies. Very comfortable accommodation with all facilities needed for self-catering. So many different routes - we did a different one each day, all with stunning scenery, fantastic views and surrounded by lots of sheep and tiny lambs. All of the staff are exceptionally friendly and thoughtful. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. We loved having our own ponies for the full duration of the stay, being able to groom them and tack/untack them. I highly recommend a visit here. We will definitely be coming back, many times.

This is a self catering horse holiday which is set in the most stunning and beautiful scenery you could ever hope for . This allows for varied riding terrain with amazing views and great canter opportunities . The best part were the animals and being in nature. One on one time with the instructor. Property is loaded with lambs and sheep, beautiful rolling hills, well worth it!

I booked a 2 night 3 day trip as a surprise birthday gift for my girlfriend.

We both had a fantastic time learning to ride horses, and the instructors were very understanding and experienced. We both felt comfortable being on a horse for the very first time as the instructors were professional and explained everything to us very well.

Our first lesson was in the school where we learnt how to steer, stop, and trot. It was a great first lesson, and we both felt more confident on our horses.

The rides we had afterwards were great. We went out with Liz, Chris, Georgie, and Dawn on different days and explored the Welsh countryside on different routes. The views were breathtaking.

We'll definitely be returning again!

From getting out of our car and being greeted warmly by Sue and team to leaving. Absolutely nothing to not like!!!! We felt welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Accommodation was basic (had everything you needed though) and very clean. Horses knew their jobs and enjoyed doing them knowing the land and when they could go up a gear. On day 1 we were assessed to ensure we were best matched with our horses. The ride leads were knowledge and we felt well looked after with rides tailored to your abilities. The team and horses = perfect

What can I say, this has to be one of the best experiences of my life!! From the moment I arrived everyone was so welcoming, a real hands on experience with the most amazing riding and views!!! Dawn was absolutely fantastic and took us on some breathtaking rides!! The horses are all so safe and looked after us all so well, I will be booking again for sure and 1000% staying longer! 3 days just wasn’t enough!!!

Everything! Location was amazing, horses beautiful, accommodation clean and tidy with everything we needed (maybe have a quick look at the TV - it wasn’t working but I didn’t mention it at the time as it was not an issue for us at all).

Our instructor was Dawn and she was amazing patient and taught me so much! The trip is entirely self catering. I read somewhere that a picnic is provided. This needs to be updated. Great experience!!!

Eloise the girl who took us out was very good we went on some interesing rides and the whole experince was enjoyable , the only thing i would say that it would have being nice if i had being able to have known where to pay , no one around at the end

The horses were carefully matched to the rider. They were forward going and well cared for. Liz, Ellie and Dawn were excellent ride leaders. My daughter gained so much confidence during our break. The countryside was beautiful.

Beautiful scenery, friendly and encouraging instructors, amazing horses - an unforgettable experience.

I booked this holiday for myself and my two teenaged daughters (13 and 14). It delivered exactly what I hoped for. Really precious mother daughter time enjoying our shared love of horses. My daughters ride to a good standard but have very little experience of riding outside of the school and I really hoped they’d improve their confidence in this area. Our instructor Dawn absolutely understood the assignment and from the very first ride was fantastically encouraging of my girls. One of my daughters particularly was nervous of cantering her pony - by the third day she was galloping across the field with the rest of us with a huge smile on her face!

We were all matched with gorgeous happy safe ponies who knew and loved their job and looked after us well. My daughters fell in love with Star and Ted whilst I tried out a different horse each day - Meg, Pearl and Tom were all fantastic, no complaints at all.

I am so glad I listened to the reviews and booked the holiday, we can’t wait to go back!

My instructor/ride lead was Dawn she really made me time away fantastic, you feel like you have been coming years when only the first time, everyone so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Forward going, beautiful horses with the opportunity for plenty of cantering across the Welsh hills for more experienced riders. Amazing views, knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Have already recommended to friends and hoping to make a return visit next year.

Very welcoming staff, good with kids and new-to-the-outdoor-riders, the crew is very competent and friendly. The lunch is very good, the rides are awesome. The horses look healthy and are taken good care of. There are many horses and pony’s and the staff picks one that suits you, I already mis Llettie… she was such a darling. I spent three days with my 11 year old daughter, she loved it, the instructors were so nice to her. Highly recommend this to others but be prepared for breakfast and dinner. I had a picky eater so make sure you did your groceries.

The horses and ponies are in excellent hands, and the amount of equid socialisation, (amongst themselves)was clear to see, it makes for much happier and safe equids.The beautiful North Wales terrain made for great rides, and any urban knowledgeable novice should visit Springfield Farm, riding traditional wide - framed heavier country ponies is an education, away from bored stroppy riding school ponies,on the flat or unchallenging surbanised countryside.Their equids

have real personalities and the leading equid staff are non - judgemental and professional, indeed.l learned to see that equestrian theory is challenged by real country animals that know how to be equids, whether field ponies or more leisure - bred horses (though l did not ride such equids).The safety martingales and the saddle straps and the attentive staff responding quickly to the saddle hole adjustments really made it seamless.This establishment has a great flow of well - timed equestrian applications and grooming is encouraged, not every equestrian centre is so well managed effortlessly.

This centre is more than just the need to make money to pay

for the bills, they love their lucky equids to the full, and it shows, l have seen worse in the past. I loved my riding challenges!, and that is the way to learn more.

The views were stunning, the crew was sensitive, responsible and flexible, and the horses were cute and happy well treated and well trained.

Absolutely everything was amazing, the horses, the views, the instructors. So accommodating to our needs , they made our trip very special. We had the best time and we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be coming back.

My 10 year old daughter and I had the best time at Springhill Farm. If you wish to be, you can be totally hands on with the horses (bringing in from field, grooming, tacking up). The horses are all gorgeous, the instructors are brilliant, the views are breathtaking and we loved our time on the farm with the animals - we will be back.

Well what can I say, just back from an amazing trip from Springhill Farm. A warm and friendly stables where every riding ability is catered for. I stayed in one of the cottages on-site. Such a wide variety of horses on a beautiful 130 acre site. I rode as a child but the adult fear factor kicked in, in later life so have put off returning to riding until now. It’s always been something I’ve longed to do but life and fear got in the way. The first day way a ride with just me and Lis and Tom (another member of the team) she was so tentative and explained everything within an hour I was trotting! Second day was with Dawn for a picnic ride 3 hours of riding along beautiful mountain trails to our picnic destination then 2 hours back to the farm. Nothing was too much trouble. On the final day Dawn took me out and we rode beautiful mountain routes with the attention to detail on my riding giving me hints and tips going forward. There were mixed ability riders and everyone was catered for. The cottage was spacious, beautifully clean, well equipped and located a few steps from the stable yard so it really felt like I was a part of the team not just a visiting guest. All of the staff were really welcoming always willing to help and remembering me. I got the train home and Tom so very kindly took me to Gobowen station. I just cannot praise the team enough. Special thanks to Sue, Liz, Dawn, Tom and my special boy Donny who gave me back my confidence. Already planning my next trip!

Friendly, well run and safe

I had a great stay and felt right at home. Everyone was so kind, and I loved my very first riding experience. Under such great instruction, I gained a lot of confidence, and before I knew it, was trotting comfortably. I met other lovely riders and we all got all so well. My gorgeous horse, Meg was a joy to ride. Appreciated the collection and drop-off to the station. It was an easy journey from London Euston. I also walked to the lovely little village, and the walk back uphill was quite demanding for someone so use to flat terrain.

I felt well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend this experience.

No ask was too much, all requests were heard and acted on when first heard. A problem was resolved immediately with minimum fuss. Staff were professional and so knowledgeable and gave so many levels to the enjoyment I received when out for a wonderful riding experience. The accommodation was extensive and large very clean and really tried to factor in a maximum level of self satisfaction to each customer without undermining valuable opportunities to get to know each other and forge friendships and ease with one another despite riding abilities

I had the most wonderful time spending four days riding out through the gorgeous hills and forests of Wales. We did a 1.5 hour ride on day one and every other day was a 4ish hour ride, sometimes longer, with either a picnic lunch or a stop at a pub, and there was never any rush so we were able to take plenty of pictures while out on rides. Lis and her team are very knowledgeable and so pleasant, they are able to make adjustments for riders based on their experience, and everyone is super accommodating. I was matched with the perfect horse (Tegwyn!) and felt extremely welcomed and taken care of. I would also add I arrived by train as I don’t have a car, and Sue and Lis were very helpful and accommodating and had no problem transporting me to/from the station. Thank you Lis and Sue for a wonderful holiday!

Everything. The scenery, instructors, accommodation - all top class. Beautiful well-loved ponies who enjoyed their outings.

I loved how passionate and energetic all the leaders were, and everything felt safe and well contained. I enjoyed being pushed but not being pushed too far. They did a fab job at managing anxieties so as to make it a rewarding experience. Liz and Dawn and Sue made it so guests feel really at home and comfortable, which was lovely. The countryside is gorgeous and peaceful, and the horses are very well tended to. The lesson from Chris was excellent and it was really kind of them to offer that, as it helped me build confidence.

I had a lovely time and felt very taken care of. There was a lot of flexibility to accommodate different levels of riding experience. It is a beautiful area, well worth the trip from London. The instructors were also lovely and knowledgeable and were very willing to make my stay as comfortable as possible, including fetching me from the train station. The horses were amazing as well. Overal an amazing experience! Would highly recommend!

This was an excellent location, very laid back riding on sound, sure footed horses who are fit and forward going, without being complicated.

We enjoyed fantastic riding through great scenery and were well looked after by our guides.

We stayed in the bunkhouse which is functional, clean and tidy and with good kitchen facilities for self catering, and one night out for dinner at a local pub, the Swan, also very good.

It was fun, relaxing and enjoyable weekend, thanks to the team at Springhill Farm x

Everything was absolutely amazing. Me and my sister would like to thank Dawn for the amazing trail rides she led us on.

We came to this holiday only being able to do a slow canter and went home being able to gallop through an open field. It had done so much for our confidence while in the saddle. We will definitely be back again next year.

I had such an amazing time. Everything was well organised. All the staff were great, the horses too! I would 100% recommend. Lis was very helpful and took the group on a superb hack. I had a couple of lessons with Chris. She was excellent. Thank you all.

The scenery was incredible and the whole experience was amazing because the instructors were so accommodating of everyones needs, worries and levels of ability. I went from being rather nervous of every hill to cantering without a care in the world in no time. I will be back.

The horses were so well looked after and a pleasure to ride. We are begginers and the instructor Dawn was excellent with us all. The views are spectacular I would highly recommend it for all levels of horse riders a wonderful place.

We loved the scenic countryside walks. We were able to ride at varying speeds across wide terrain. The self-catering accommodation provided a nice home base and a quaint place to unwind after a long day of riding.

Views, countryside and horses are all fabulous.

Clean and comfortable accommodation, well equipped. Loved my horse Jack. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Wish I lived nearer - I'd ride every weekend

This place is amazing. The horses are so patient, as are the trainers. We were complete beginners, but left with a love of it and are already planning our next visit. We learned so much! They let us come early to each session to "help" groom and tack up the horses which was a lovely touch. The scenery is second to none. The place is almost entirely off the grid when it comes to phone signal and broadband.

I've rated 5 star for food. It was self-catering, but the kitchen was large and very well stocked. We ate out every day, but plenty to choose from at Oswestry. We took a picnic on the ride for the last day and that was a great thing to do.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The views are breath taking before you even start!

Everyone is so friendly, the horses are clearly well loved and cared for, they are very content.

The instruction is brilliant and riding ability is assessed along with horse compatibility.

The hacking trails (we didn't see all of them) are numerous and absolutely stunning! An excellent place for calm and to find peace from every day stresses.

We were shown and encouraged to tack and unpack our horses, given time to groom them, which we enjoyed as much as the horses did; it is great to be able to give something back when they work so hard (I'm not sure I'd be walking the tracks on my own two legs!)

Accommodation has everything you need, is very clean and our room overlooked fields and mountains.

There are pubs locally, within short drives on picturesque and stereotypical country roads up and down hillsides, serving great food. It really adds to the whole holiday experience of 'getting away from it all.'

Highly recommend, we can't wait to go back!

I absolutely loved my weekend here. As a total beginner, I began with an hours lesson with a lovely lady whose name I can’t remember, sorry, but she gave me confidence and enabled me to begin trotting comfortably. My guides Eloise and Dawn were really encouraging and enabled me to have two wonderful days out riding in the most beautiful countryside on my lovely horse Jainie. I met some great people during my stay and want to say a big thank you to all the staff for making this trip so memorable. I hope to return soon 😊

Springhill Farm offers an amazing riding opportunity for levels of riders. The friendliness and professionalism of the whole team, with the stoic and gentle nature of the horses made our riding adventure a wonderful three days of fun. The weather and countryside was outstanding!

A big shout out to Eloise who gently and professionally looked after us for two days, as well as Lily on the first day.

But most importantly thank you to Socks and Ronnie who were a sheer joy to ride.

Got a lot out of my two lessons with Chris - she was really clear with a balance of what to keep doing and what to alter and was positive and encouraging throughout.

The accommodation was modern, clean and functional - I stayed in a cottage and found the sharing a nice aspect too as I went on the trip alone so I had some lovely company with the new people I met.

The location was just stunning, beautiful views over the hills and valleys and lovely to go for a walk in the evening sunshine.

I’ll definitely be going back. I can’t recommend Springhill Farm enough.

Myself and my friend Suzy had an absolutely fantastic time! Sue, Lis, Eloise, Chris and the whole team took very great care of us! The horses were well looked after and we genuinely just had the best of time! I’m so looking forward to going back in August/beginning Sept!

Could not recommend Springhill Farm highly enough! We stayed for three days and trekked in the most beautiful of countryside. The trek leaders (Liz, Kate and Carol) were lovely and ensured that there was variety to our rides! We also changed our plans last minute and were able to book a jumping lesson with Chris which was so fun!

The self catering accommodation is perfectly set up and there are some nice pubs near by that you can go to in the evening.

Such a friendly atmosphere and amazing hosts!!! Had the most amazing holiday and can’t recommend it enough. Good time in the saddle trekking through some lovely surroundings. They take pride in matching you with your prefect four legged companion for the week, making sure you feel safe but also get the most out of your experience. If you’re a regular rider like myself they try give you something with a bit of flash but none of the horses are silly in any way, allowing you to enjoy the ride. For my friend who doesn’t ride on the regular they made sure she had the perfect pony to give her the confidence to relax and enjoy the ride. They really do look after you the best they can😁

I had the best time at Springhill Farm. The horses (especially Dillys) were simply wonderful and the instructors were very kind, encouraging and helpful!

The hacks were so much fun and we saw a lot of the beautiful landscape surrounding the farm.

The self-catering wasn‘t a problem as it was very clearly communicated beforehand and I just stopped at a supermarket on my way to the farm to buy food for three days.

I will definitely come back!!

Sue kindly gave me a lift to and from the nearest train stations (Gobowen and Chirk) which are accessible from the major cities.

The cottage had almost all kitchen appliances (electric stove, oven, grill, microwave) and cooking utensils. Just don't forget to bring your toiletries (body soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste)!

The wifi strength was fine for normal use. There were no mobile signal for the operators EE and 3 (or whichever Singtel connects to), but this might change as I think there is a mast being installed.

For the ride, despite my inexperience, the instructors and staff were very patient and kind. In particular, Nat and Alice/Elise/Alicia/Elycia for the many trails and trying to get Ted to canter, Chris for the useful lesson, and Elowen for helping with the tacking up (hope I got the names right...). Retrospectively, I genuinely regret my shyness and I should have made full use of the opportunities to find out more about their life in the farm/countryside, as well as about mushroom and moss.

Love my horse, Ted, with whom I managed to form a bond over the three days (or so I hope)!

It was great going through the different terrains (woods, hills, plains and roads) in various weather (from sunny to rainy and foggy) with beautiful view. I am really fortunate to have experienced the complete set of British weather!

Amazing long weekend - excellent riding, remote trails, wonderful hosts, great tuition | The horses were outstanding as was the instruction. I learnt a tremendous amount in a very short period of time. The horses and tuition were very well matched to my requirements but with the right amount of "stretch". Thanks for everything!

The location was amazing with incredible views and scenery. Everyone was friendly, patient and helpful and happy to answer our many questions and to show us the ropes in terms of tacking up the horses and improving our riding skills. It was lovely being introduced to our horses and using the same ones each day to enable us to form a bond with them. My son and I found the riding lesson on the Sunday particularly useful (the instructor was excellent) and enjoyable and we would have happily had another one or two of these to improve our riding and with the opportunity to then put our newfound skills into practice whilst trekking. It was heartwarming to see my son grow in confidence over the course of the weekend and he now wants regular riding lessons as a result!

I felt all the teachers were trying to strike a good balance between giving needed instruction and correction on the one hand and support and encouragement on the other. They genuinely seemed to care that you were both learning and enjoying yourself.

The entire experience was amazing,I felt very comfortable with them and they make me feel very welcomed. Their horses very well looked after , well trained and calm.

My party enjoyed having a few lessons in the school and enjoyed the views and riding on the hills I enjoyed the views and going on the hacks

We absolutely loved every minute of our trail horse riding holiday. The instructors and staff we have met (Dawn, Florentina, Fred, Nat and Katy) were all fabulous; they were very professional, patient and kind and they were always ready to help us out. Dawn has shown us some picturesque landscapes and trails that we could have only dreamed of. The horses were well matched to our personalities :-). Our riding skills have improved massively in the few days we have spent there. The accommodation was clean and suitable for the holiday with good quality bunk beds. The provide food was delicious and fresh. We are definitely coming back.

I always loved horse riding but never really found the moment & the right opportunity to dedicate some time to it. This was the perfect getaway for me! I really enjoyed every moment of it.

Its the perfect combination of nature, lessons, relaxation and of course access to horses. They have around 60 horses on the farm and they are all so well looked after and so well behaved.

The instructors are brilliant and super friendly. They make you feel welcome immediately and you can tell that they really understand what they are taking about. They know each of their horses by heart and they together with their horses, make you feel comfortable every step of the way.

You also get the chance to really double down on your horse riding skills ( independently of your level), which feels a lot like progress.

After horse riding, you have enough time to chill out onsite, go for walks or just read your book...

I came from London by train and they kindly offered to pick me up and drop me back at the nearest train station.

I really enjoyed my getaway and will definitely be back for more!

A wonderful family run farm in the middle of gorgeous countryside with self catered accommodation. The hacks were beautiful and well run and I learned a lot during the lessons. The horses are well trained and obviously very well taken care of. Thank you for the hospitality!

Quite family run farm. Kitchen was well stocked when we arrived. Staff where lovely and accommodating. Kids got to help with grooming and tacking up which is a good lesson for them. Staff answered all questions. Farm provided riding PPE. Beautiful hacks around surrounding areas and we where lucky enough to have a lesson provided during our stay.

We enjoyed the horses and the riding experience even though the weather could have been better on the full days riding. The scenery and location was beautiful, the accommodation lovely and warm and the people warm and friendly.

There was such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere at the yard - everyone was so friendly, and I just wish I could remember everyone's names!

My horse-mad eight year old would have slept with the horses if allowed, and the staff were very patient but firm with her. She took part in grooming, tacking and cleaning when it was safe and appropriate. The rides themselves were very enjoyable, with gorgeous scenery and pleasant routes.

The horses themselves were clearly happy and healthy, and had a nice range of temperaments for difference levels of confidence and experience. My daughter cried genuine tears when we had to leave, and is still talking about Barbara the gentle Irish Cob.

We're already planning to go back, and will be regular visitors.

The whole weekend pony trekking experience was fabulous.

The instructors listened to us and gave us suitable ponies for the rides, even changing them as we grew more confident . They really looked after us during the rides. We felt safe and comfortable .We cant wait to return to Springhill farm

The owners are amazing, the cottage was so cosy and the food provided was more than enough. We had such a great time and will be back!
