Daily itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Morocco
Your journey begins with your arrival in Essaouira, where you will be greeted and transferred to your traditional riad in the heart of the city. Spend the day at leisure exploring the historic medina, wandering along the harbor, or simply relaxing and settling into Moroccan life. Let the atmosphere of the Atlantic coast set the tone for the days ahead.
Day 2: First ride through Argan forests and Berber villages
After breakfast, transfer to the stables to meet your horse and riding companions. Following a short introduction, set off through the rolling countryside, riding beneath argan trees and passing traditional Berber villages. Follow the peaceful Oued El Ksob River toward Ghazoua village, where a scenic picnic lunch awaits. In the afternoon, continue riding toward the coast, arriving in Sidi Kaouki. Settle into a beautiful villa with a pool, welcomed with mint tea and Moroccan sweets. As evening falls, enjoy a home-cooked Moroccan dinner.
Day 3: Beach freedom and sunset gallops
Begin the day with breakfast before preparing your horses for a two-hour ride along the wild Atlantic beach. Feel the rhythm of the ocean as you ride across open sand and breathe in the salty air. Return to the villa for lunch and a relaxing afternoon by the pool. Optional massage treatments are available for those wishing to unwind even deeper. In the late afternoon, head back to the beach for an unforgettable sunset gallop, where golden light meets endless shoreline.
Day 4: Cliffs, cascades, and ocean horizons
After a delicious breakfast, set out across fields and coastal villages, or ride along dramatic cliffs overlooking the Atlantic, depending on the wind conditions. Ride toward the spectacular Sidi Embark cascades, where fresh water flows directly into the sea. Enjoy lunch, followed by a long break for swimming and relaxation in this unique natural setting. In the afternoon, ride back toward Sidi Kaouki along beaches and cliffs, enjoying long gallops before arriving in the villa in mid-afternoon. Take time for a swim before gathering for dinner.
Day 5: Mountains, wildlife, and argan traditions
After breakfast, the trek leads inland through mountainous terrain and along a riverbed, offering a glimpse into authentic rural life. Along the way, encounter goats, sheep, camels, turtles, dogs, and cats, adding charm and character to the journey. Dismount for a short walk down a steep mountainside before remounting for flowing trot and canter sections toward your picnic spot. In the afternoon, ride through canyons, gorges, and open fields, followed by a visit to a local argan oil cooperative, where you will learn about traditional production methods and their cultural significance.
Day 6: Caves, beaches, and golden light
Enjoy breakfast, care for the horses, and have lunch before setting out on a ride around Sidi Kaouki. Discover a hidden cave, enjoy time on the beach with your horses, and experience the powerful connection between horse, rider, and sea. As the sun begins to set, take part in a sunset photoshoot with your horse, followed by joyful canters along the shoreline under glowing skies.
Day 7: Dunes, forests, and the final ride
After a generous breakfast, begin your final ride north toward Essaouira. Pass the Marabout of Sidi Kaouki, then cross vast sand dunes unique to the region, enjoying exhilarating gallops. Ride past small fishing villages and toward a Berber village perched on a cliff above the Atlantic. After a picnic lunch in a secluded creek with time to swim, continue toward the Cap Sim lighthouse. Descend sandy paths through the dunes, feeling as though you are in the desert while the ocean lies just beyond.
Ride along the beach before entering eucalyptus and mimosa forests near Diabat, where you will visit the ruins of the Sultan’s Palace - “The Castle in the Sand.” Arrive at the stables around 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. Say goodbye to your horse before transfer to the airport or extend your stay in Sidi Kaouki or Essaouira (own expense).
