Hacienda Horses

The Hacienda is a very special place. The staff are so welcoming, kind and professional. Christine, the owner, has created something truly special. It’s the perfect balance of activity and relaxation. No matter what your level of riding skills the experienced team make you feel very comfortable and confident. The horses are extremely well trained and looked after. The scenery is stunning and the traditional Hacienda accommodation is comfortable and homely with a wonderful courtyard and terraced swimming pool. We can’t wait to go back!

If you are horse lover, this is a good place to be.

How incredibly kind everyone was.

The horses are so well cared for and we could tell straight away what a woman Christine was with how kindly she treats all of her animals, and how the welfare of the horses comes first. We (my mum and I) travelled together for my 30th Birthday, it was our first time ever doing a horse riding holiday and this exceeded all expectations. The aesthetic of the Cortijo, how well presented and clean everywhere was, the quality of the food, the attention to detail, the horses, the amount of riding - it was everything you could have wanted and more. Our lovely driver John was very welcoming and started the holiday off on a lovely note for us helping us to feel settled straight away on the ride down from the airport to Hacienda Horses. A big shout out to Donna also who is such a lovely down to earth lady, it felt like family to us and like we had been here a hundred times before.

I rode Benji for hacks and Sultana for lessons and they worked so hard and so well, it made my riding experience really enjoyable and helped build so much confidence back in myself, not just in riding but in myself too. I feel as though I have come back an entirely different person in the best way, I have a completely different outlook on life after living this whole experience for the past week.

We will most definitely be returning, we made some fantastic new friends with people from all over the world, staff, other customers and with the doggies too!

I had a lovely time here and I hope to come back someday! The horses are so healthy and lovely! The other guests made my stay fun. We ate dinner every night together. Very good food. Every morning we went on a beautiful hack and every afternoon we had lessons. The staff is so kind and the hacienda is so beautiful! Clean rooms and good beds. Nice swimming pool. If you love nature and horses this is the place for you!!! I will be back, I loved every day here!

It was a really great week. The coaches were always supportive and positive. The horses were really great and well trained for the rides. The whole facility was clean and well maintained. The horses were also well looked after, groomed and regularly seen by the vet and farrier. There was also really good food every day and vegan food was prepared especially for me. It certainly wasn't my last visit there :)

This was an incredible place, the focus was on the horses and tranquility, and enjoying all that the staff at the Hacienda had created, in the glorious hills. Everyone was down to earth and kind, and we enjoyed learning to ride, lovely food comfortable accommodation. Influencers and people who want to show they are living their best life should stay away (so as not to spoil the place)!

That guests had nothing to take care about, just here to enjoy horse riding activities, under a perfect weather, with nice food and company of other guests.

Boende, mat och ridning var av mycket hög kvalitet. Kombinationen av uteritt på förmiddagen och lektion på eftermiddagen passade oss perfekt. Indelningen i grupper efter förmåga gjorde att alla fick trygga, roliga och lärorika ridpass.

The feeling of all people who work in the Hacienda, they have biggest love for (rescue) horses.. it's inspiring and touched me.

Best place to relax, so quiet. In the four days we were there we met two farmers whilst riding amongst the olive groves and surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the hacks, which were done in small groups (2-5) according to everyone's abilities. Everywhere was so peaceful! The lessons were also excellent, I learned so much during my stay. Our apartment was bigger than to the one we live at home! Hacienda feels like home away from home. The staff are so friendly and they will do everything to make you feel comfortable. When it comes to food they will cater to your every whim! Mike the magician will prepare meals which taste excellent and are healthy!

Everything was lovely. The food, facilities and location were all amazing. I had a great time at Hacienda Horses and would definitely go back. All the horses are super sweet and the dogs are very cute too :)

The whole experience with Hacienda Horses was wonderful from beginning to end. Can't say enough about the quality of horses, well trained, safe and fun to ride even for the more experienced rider. Not your typical tourist riding facility, where horses follow nose to tail. These horses are independant and a pleasure to ride. I appreciated the fact that we rode many different horses during the stay. Horses were very well matched to my riding abilities. Bex, Faye, Alvaro and Lily were all friendly and competent intructors/trail guides. I enjoyed my lessons with Bex and Alvaro, both helping me to improve my riding.

Thank-you to Christine and Paul for putting together a great riding holiday. Thank-you Donna for the wonderful drinks in the evening! My stay in Oliver room was impeccable. Facilities were lovely (courtyard, pool etc). Definitely hope to visit again!

Well presented accommodation, well looked after horses, personal service, health and safety of guests a priority. Christine and Paul the owners have worked extremely hard to establish and maintain the high standards here. If you want to hack out in amazing surroundings with no road work and improve on your riding, if you cant do it here you wouldn't do it anywhere i can assure you. There are horses for all abilities your riding is assessed on arrival and an appropriate horse is offered. From gentle walks on a lead rein to rides with fast canters over a variety of terrain if your honest about you ability and take advice from well meaning and qualified staff your safety and experience will be assured. .

The place and surroundings are incredible and the horses are very well taken care of. I knew within hours of arriving that I wanted to come back again as soon as possible. The personalised lessons are really useful. The trainers explain what to do and why, and teach you how to ensure that the horses are as comfortable as possible. I also liked the flexibility of the staff, whether you want to help taking care of the horses after the lesson or head straight to the shower and pool.

Hospitality, staff, food, accommodation, horses were all excellent. I couldn’t fault anything, everyone couldn’t do enough to make sure my stay was the best it could be.

There is a good selection of horses for everyone from beginners to advanced. Lovely trails for riding out and thorough instruction in the school from Michelle and Becky. This is not for intense high level move training, it’s focused on feel and getting the foundations right which includes lateral work and test moves. The lessons get the best out of you and the horse.

What is really special is the way the horses are cared for, they are all ‘rescues’ of some kind and are rehabilitated to give them a comfortable meaningful life.

It is clear that the horses welfare is at the heart of those involved with them at Cortijo Uribe.

The pool is great and the hacienda atmosphere is so relaxing for in between and after rides.

I would be more than happy to return and the sooner the better ❤️

Location, food, service, atmosphere was great, it was more than I have expected when booking riding vacation first time in my life. Separate story worth horses and arena & hacking instructors. Horses big variety of color, size, age, experience. All horses are extremely well treated and softly cared. They live very good life :) Instructors are wonderful from all - experience and attitude perspective. One event could illiustrate a lot - unfortunately I caught a cold while traveling and could not ride onle day in the morning and afternoon. Seeing my sadness Michele offered a lesson another day when were no lessons planned and made me unbelievably happy. I'm just one day back home, but would like to repeat this vacation again! :)

Wonderful horses and wonderful hacking. Lessons were fantastic and really directed to your individual requirements. Food fabulous. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Accommodation beautiful.

I have not word of complaint. This was a fantastic experience. I loved everything about it. The staff were wonderful. The chef, Sheila, prepared delicious food, the horses were lovely, the instructors were very knowledgeable, the other guest were friendly, accommodation is great, location was tranquil and simply beautiful.

Liked the structure of the hack in the morning with Grace and Victoria then some relaxing time around the pool before the lesson in the afternoon. Excellent food by Stella and dedicated instruction in the school by Laura. Learnt so much from Laura. Ideal for solo travellers.

Hotel transfers before and after my stay was very smooth. I did not feel lonely or awkward at anytime as everyone was really friendly. My apartment was very comfortable. The food was fantastic!

An assessment was given upon arrival which I liked. It gave them an idea of my riding ability. I had Grace and Laura as my instructors during my lessons in the afternoon. Both Grace and Laura were amazing! They really made me work improving my riding, they were both very patient, clear with instructions and knowledgeable. I have learnt so much in the last week. On hacks I felt safe and in control on all the different horses. Different riding routes everyday all with stunning views. After riding you have lots of options to relax you can just chill by the pool or have a massage or a drink on the patio. I loved every minute I was in the saddle! I would highly recommend this riding holiday Loved it!! Loved the horse especially Eclipse & Luna!!

The accommodation was superb, and the team were really welcoming and friendly.

The ranch is in a beautiful setting being surrounded by fabulous Spanish countryside and an abundance of wildlife, yet still only 10 minutes drive from the local village.

The dedicated care and attention given to both the wonderful horses, and the lovely rescue dogs living at the ranch, was evident throughout.

As novice riders we were anxious to begin with, but Victoria worked hard to help us gain confidence and by the end of our 5 day stay we were thoroughly enjoying our hacks and lessons with a real sense of achievement.

The food is plentiful and delicious, with dietary requirements catered for if needed.

All guest areas were maintained to an excellent standard, with high levels of cleanliness and attention to detail.

We opted for airport transfers arranged by the team, and we were very happy with the comfort and friendly efficiency provided.

I wanted to ride Andalusians in Andalusia and I got more than I could have hoped for.

The horses are amazing.

The people are fantastic.

Christine, Luise, Freya, Victoria, Stella, Wicks and the riders in our group, you created a memory that will be with me forever.

Stunning scenery, quality horses, great instructors and relaxation.

The horses were well looked after, well schooled and excellent to ride. Louisa and Hannah were great instructors.

Wonderful personal attention from the hosts, from pick up at the airport (thank you to the lovely John) to timing of rides and help with printing my boarding pass. I was really well looked after. My instructor Louise was one of the best I have come across, she made the holiday special and did a brilliant job. I liked the two non Spanish ponies I rode.

Everything was fantastic. Great horses, accommodation, food and employee team.

The stables were well kept and organized. There were a variety of horses and I found some quite suitable partners. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The scenery was beautiful when hacking out. The food was quite nice as well.

My daughter and I loved our holiday with Hacienda Horses. The horses, instructors and location were all fantastic. We really enjoyed the combination of two hour hacks in the morning and one hour instruction in the arena in the afternoon. All the staff were very friendly and we felt well taken care of. Our accommodation exceeded our expectations as we had a good sized two bed apartment rather than just a twin room. I haven’t felt so relaxed after a holiday for a long time, the combination of three hours riding a day alongside quality down time reading our books was perfect. I would definitely visit again.

At first I was a bit reluctant to book as I was solo and have never been on a horse riding holiday before. However, It was better than I expected and its, very good if you are a beginner. Arriving at the location I was taken aback as to how beautiful the place was. There were other guest and Christine waiting for my arrival. All were very welcoming.

An assessment was given on arrival which I think was a very good idea to judge your riding level. It gives them an idea for when you go on a hack and take lessons, where your at.

The instructor Paolo was very good and experience and made you feel safe on the horse. He improved my riding skills and taught me a lot. He knows his stuff.

I really enjoyed the hacks in the morning, as I had never ridden outside of an arena, so that just boosted my confidence tremendously. Also the views are amazing. I miss them now.

The establishment has lots of facilities, you can just chill by the pool or have a massage to relax.

Overall I am so glad I took the plunge to do this. I have definitely improved on my riding skills. I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this place. Loved it!!!!! A big thanks to all the team.

Wonderful horses, brilliant instruction, beautiful surrondings. The cortijo has been wonderfully restored, such a pleasure to stay. Great food and Martine does great massage and reflexology. Thanks to Christine, Paul, Jorge, Vicky, Andy, Martine, Donna and especially Mac, who is such a good teacher. I had a lot of fun and my riding and confidence really developed.

People where very friendly from in the yard to the accomadation staff. Food was excellent. Horses are well looked after. Transport facilities was excellent I will be going back asap.

Very well looked after horse's, beautiful Andalusian's and part breed Andalusian's so there was plenty of choice. You could try different horse's out every day. The accomodation was beautiful & very comfortable. The food was very good and plenty full. The standard of tuition by the instructor called Mel was fantastic, she really improved our riding skills by the time we left, and she was very patient with everyone.

Serious one on one training. The horses are extremely well taken care of and it shows. Adorable dogs too. Excellent attentive trainers. Authentic Spanish rustic decor. Full service delicious meals. Excellent massage upon request. Peaceful environment to challenge oneself inro learning to ride.

We had a wonderful time at Hacienda. My partner and I only rode once but had a great time relaxing and watching my step daughter ride. She acknowledged that she learnt more in the three days there than she had in the whole of previous year at her stables. The instructors where fantastic teaching all of the kids, all of whom clearly had a wonderful time. We will be returning next year!!

Everything was just magic. We received a warm welcome. The instructors were great and able to adapt for all abilities and match you to the right horse. The hacking was wonderful through olive groves and vineyards- fast paced or gentle amble. A wonderful, relaxing and active holiday . Thanks to all the team.

This was a great place for us to start our horse riding instruction. After an initial assessment of our riding skills, a schedule was tailor made for us which involved 2 x one hour lessons each day. The instructors were very patient with us and great fun, but extremely professional and they were keen to keep us improving each lesson. We started out extremely nervous complete beginners, but by day four, just as the sun was rising, we were part of a small group hack meandering through olive groves with the misty mountains in the distance - beautiful! In between times, we relaxed around the pool. You can also cycle to nearby Mollina village for a beer. The owners organised picnic and drove us beginners (the experienced riders met us half way through their hack), but this was not an ordinary picnic! There was a long table dressed with a table cloth, comfy chairs, roasted veg lasagne, fresh salad and fruit and a choice of wine/water/soft drinks, even tea/coffee! It was so great to all be together and chat about our progress and having a laugh!. That same day, the owners took us into the main town of Antequera for an opportunity to browse and have a night out (they collected us at 10pm). We have met lovely folks, some travelling alone or with their teenage children, from numerous counties around the world. This is one of the best short breaks we've had and we look forward to going back again to Hacienda Horses again soon!

Amazing trip for father and daughter to connect, enjoy, learn and have fun

The girls instructing us were splendid, giving the beginners amongst us so much confidence we were all cantering in the end. Also, they gave our daughter who is more advanced more challenge without forgetting she’s only 8. She absolutely loved the jumping class! Oh, and Becky’s meals were delicious. Vegetarian or lactose free dietary wishes were not a problem.
