This plan with 2 full riding days, arriving at 8 a.m. at the departure point and leaving at 5 p.m. on the next day from that same point, is designed mainly for tourists that are already in Bogotá, Colombia or are planning to travel to the country and only has a couple of days for an adventure ride around Bogotá. They can help arrange accommodations in Bogotá or the surroundings if needed and transportation to/from the place of the activity.
The holiday will take please from El Sisga to Laguna de Suesca, Cucunuba, Santa Rosita, then back to El Sisga, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The meeting point is El Sisga Dam which from Bogota is 70 kilometers along the northern central highway via Tunja, Chocontá, Cundinamarca, Colombia.

Day 1: Total route on horseback - 32 kilometers, 8 hours (6 hours riding a horse)
The horses await you, saddled near the Sisga dam, where you will begin the journey through the valley of the Sisga River until it flows into the Bogotá River; where there are still clear waters and aquatic life. You will take the mountains towards the Suesca lagoon, crossing beautiful potato crops among others, and you will be able to observe the northern part of the Bogotá savannah and in the background, the legendary Tominé lagoon and the Sisga reservoir until you reach the beautiful Suesca lagoon.
One of the natural lagoons of the Cundiboyacense plateau, take the mountains that separate the Suesca lagoon from the Ubaté valley, where the eastern end is the beautiful town of Cucunubá. Enjoy a delicious picnic with a spectacular view over the lagoon and then take a path through the mountains and descend towards the Ubaté valley with a beautiful view of Ubaté, Cucunubá and the natural lagoons of Cucunubá and Palacio.
Then, follow the road to Cucunubá, a beautiful colonial town known for the craftsmanship of virgin wool blankets and garments, located in a corner of the Ubaté valley. You will go to a cozy inn where you will spend the night and the horses will have plenty of grass and water.
Day 2: Total route on horseback - 35 kilometers, 8 hours (6 hours riding a horse)
You will take a different route for the return, along a spectacular road bordering the Suesca lagoon until you reach the old northern railway station, which passed through there until the middle of the last century, and you will go to the top of Cajones at 3,200 meters above sea level, to descend to Santa Rosita, the last populated center of Chocontá bordering the municipality of Suesca, to take the road that will take you to your destination where you will arrive at around 5 p.m. to enjoy a snack and end this adventure.
