Program

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

As the plane touches down in Cairo, a world of enchantment awaits you. Step onto Egyptian soil, where the history and the vibrancy of the present come together. From the bustling streets to the iconic landmarks, your adventure begins the moment you step onto Cairo's land.

Meet the team from Desert Dreams and your travel partners. Enjoy your local meal with a great view of the Pyramids. An Egyptian dinner is like a flavor explosion. The vibrant colors, bold spices, and aromatic herbs come together to create a unique sensory experience.

Day 2: Giza horse ride and transfer to Siwa

Try some local dishes in the morning, have your coffee and tea, then get ready for a riding adventure. Experience an open space desert where several gallop opportunities await you. Marvel at the grandeur of the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

This ride is on many equestrians' bucket list. No wonder why - imagine riding through the golden sands with the view of the iconic Pyramids (the ride is 1.5 - 2 hours). After the ride, Desert Dreams will take you back to your hotel, where you can freshen up, have your lunch, then get ready to check out and transfer to the magical Siwa Oasis.

The drive will take approximately eight hours. Dinner will be served in Siwa at the guesthouse.

Day 3: Cleopatra's Spring and sunset ride

Start your morning with a traditional Egyptian breakfast. This day's morning will be a free and relaxed one, then later, visit and see the famous Cleopatra's Spring. The water is rich in minerals, making it ideal for swimming and relaxation. Lunch will be served overlooking the spring.

Enjoy your lunch, then get ready for a horse riding adventure in Siwa. Dinner will be served at your guesthouse.

Day 4: Ride to Oracle Temple and sunset jeep safari

Try some local dishes in the morning, have your coffee and tea then get ready for another wonderful day. After breakfast, you will depart from the guesthouse and ride to Oracle Temple, where your guide will accompany you to discover its history.

This ancient temple is linked to the famous Oracle of Amun. There, ancient seekers sought wisdom. It is believed that pilgrims once traveled from across the ancient world for guidance. After your morning adventure, your experienced driver will take you to a desert adventure - a thrilling off-road experience.

The desert landscape will unfold around you as you drive deeper into the desert, rolling sand dunes, rocky formations, and vast expanses of golden sand. Climb the sand dunes and enjoy panoramic views or perhaps try sandboarding.

Day 5: Half-day desert ride

This day, you will discover the Great Sand Sea on horseback. Get ready for four to five hours of exhilarating riding adventure. Explore stunning landscapes and witness the natural beauty of this enchanting place.

It is hard to describe the feeling of galloping across the open desert, but you will have the chance to experience this. Desert Dreams will just say it here: the "Yalla" feeling. When your guide says this magic word, suddenly, the wind will rush past you and you and your horse will move swiftly across the endless stretches of sand.

The local horses are called Baladi horses, a unique breed that originated in Egypt. With their elegant movements and flowing manes, Baladi horses are a sight to behold. These horses are known for their courage, power, intelligence, and their kind nature and willingness to please. There are so many great stories about how these horses were loyal to their owner.

Horses were so important to the Bedouins. They kept the mares in their tents, which explains why they are connected with humans on a different level. They are the best companions for a long desert trail.

Day 6: Ride to the Salt Lakes

This day, you will ride to the Salt Lakes. These lakes are known for their high salinity, which will allow you to lay your back and float effortlessly. The scenery around the lakes is mesmerizing - lush palm trees and greenery with bright blue and white salt formations.

This will be more than just fun. The salt has therapeutic effects known for benefiting the skin and the body. It is also believed that it can help relieve various skin conditions and promote relaxation.

Day 7: Visiting Shali Fortress and transfer to Cairo

This day, before you depart to Cairo, you will visit the Shali Fortress, which has a historical significance. It dates back to the 12th century, and was built primarily from local mud brick mixed with salt and sand. As you enter the fortress, you will find yourself amongst a labyrinth and narrow passageways.

These passageways were built as a strategy against invaders and to protect the city. The ruins of Shali offers a beautiful glimpse into the past. After your lunch, you will start your journey to Cairo. Your scenic drive will start with the mesmerizing Western Desert, then the road will continue with seaside towns.

This drive will also be a great chance to remember all the adventure that you have had and the memories that you have created over the last few days. Overnight will be in Cairo, Giza.

Day 8: Departure

Have your breakfast, then check out from the hotel. As you say goodbye to Egypt, remember the new friendships that you’ve made and the cultural experiences that have enriched your life. Take a moment to look back on your photographs and souvenirs, which will remind you of the incredible adventures you’ve had. Hopefully, Desert Dreams will see you for another adventure.
