"The Best Horseback Riding Vacation You'll Ever Take!"

Jackie was my main instructor. You don't have to say a word. Jackie sees and intuitively knows exactly where you are on the riding learning curve and adjusts and builds each lesson accordingly. After only 10 lessons, I was able to lunge the horse, bridle the horse, and saddle the horse all alone. I cleaned out its hooves alone, brushed it, fed it... and that's just the ground work. I learned how to switch reins in a walk and a trot. I learned about steering the horse around poles to change reins in various ways. The most important part of it all is how quickly Jackie gets you to build your confidence. Now I know when I return in 2025, I'll have the self assurance to master a canter, and maybe even a small jump. The horses are bomb proof and calm and perfect for learning at any skill level.

Besides the riding, the accommodations are spacious and immaculate. Jackie is a wonder chef as well - and her poached eggs are some of the best I've ever tasted. From Day 1, you are embraced as one of the family. I did not train with Johnny, but received a related education about everything equine, from racing, showing, jumping, training, betting, buying, and selling horses. When you want a day off, Coutras is a gorgeous little town to visit , and definitely try to go to a local wine tasting tour.

Go, go, go. It's an experience you will never forget!

I'm counting the days till I can go back.

"Relax and Ride"

Jackie and Johnny were fabulous hosts. Most of all, I loved feeling at home. The horses, meals, conversion, and accommodations top the list of what I enjoyed most about my stay. The vibe was relaxed yet engaging. I really felt cared for yet given space to relax. It was a perfect balance.

"Great riding time!!"

We spent the morning riding and afternoon touring around nearby towns (i.e. St Emilion, Cognac, Bordeaux - very cute/quiet/romantic). It was great combination of riding and chateaux visits overall, and pretty much what we came for. However, the riding experience significantly exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed the lessons and simply enjoyed riding so much. With our timing, we only took 1 additional lesson with Jackie but we wished we could do more; and we plan to go back next year, just for the riding!

There are lots of great stuff here, the riding stable is full of love!

Jackie and Johnny really took good care of their horses/cats/pet horse. All animals on the farm are happy, lovely and friendly!

While Jackie is very patient and simply very gentle in her approach, we were able to make significant progress in riding. In 6 lessons, I corrected my leg position in raising trot such that, I could now trot for as long as my horse wants and feel comfortable with faster pace in trotting; and I even tried canter. With the canter exercise, I started to feel comfortable with horse movements. After all these lessons with Jackie, I truly realized, riding is not what we could simply learn from YouTube, it varies for everyone.

Other riders that crossed over with us are experienced and there for jumping training. For those of you wondering around, however your experience lvl, you will have break-through here!! Riding is enjoyable before anything else :)
