Accommodation

You will stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan with natural hot spring coming from the mountain of Zao, with great food choices such as Japanese izakaya menu, local yakiniku restaurant, and morning rice plate to choose.

Program

Ride through cherry blossom forests in spring (late March–April), lush green landscapes and fresh mountain air in summer (May–September), vibrant red and golden momiji in autumn (October–December), and the silver-white forests of Zao in winter (late December–March).

After riding, unwind in natural hot springs and indulge in Zao’s delicious local cuisine. Calm, dependable Dosanko horses (a traditional Japanese breed) will be your trusted companions. Easy and accessible riding techniques are taught through pre-ride lessons and warm-ups, so riders can enjoy the longer trails with confidence. A variety of cultural and nature-based optional activities allow you to freely design your own ideal itinerary.

Day 1

  • Noon – Arrival at Shiraishi-Zao Station by Shinkansen from Tokyo or other locations
  • Afternoon – Kurumi trail ride and mini outdoor session (a perfect warm-up and meet-and-greet with your horse companions)
  • Evening – Check in to a traditional Japanese ryokan with natural hot springs and enjoy a Japanese dinner

Day 2

  • Morning - Kurumi cross-country ride (90 minutes)
  • Afternoon - Optional activities of your choice (additional fees apply; prices vary)
  • Evening - Relax and dinner at the Japanese Ryokan

Day 3

  • Morning - Kurumi cross-country ride (120 minutes)
  • Afternoon - Program concludes, and guests disperse after the ride

How to get there

Arrival by train

Take Shinkansen to Shiraishi-Zao Station. Horseback in Japan can arrange Shinkansen tickets upon requests so feel free to send them inquiry.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 10% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
