Riding Iceland

The horses were absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to ride. The instructors were friendly and funny and great cooks.

The ponies were excellent. The instructor was very good at matching them to each of us. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and approachable. Also they were very accommodating. Being located near the sea and out in the countryside made it fun just to be there. Sightseeing activities were thoughtfully chosen to satisfy the diverse needs of the group.

How friendly and welcoming the family and staff were. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was amazing!

Mieke and Merikha were excellent guides and very passionate about horses. This has been one of the best experiences of our lives!

The guides were excellent: Claire ensured that everyone was matched to horses that suited their riding style and ability. The rides combined exceptional scenery, and trails with a variety of terrain. Everything was very well organised, and all the guests and horses had a smile on their face.

I flew to Iceland in a solo trip, but I immediately felt like I had a family at Saltvik. I booked the 3-day comfort tour. Every member of the team was extremely kind and my riding group was lovely! We rode on beautiful horses through incredible landscapes. We were flexible and were able to choose what we wanted to do. For example, one day, half the group continued to ride while the other half went site seeing. They were extremely accommodating to our needs. The food was excellent and prepared freshly daily. The accommodation was very cute and clean. The beds were comfortable and the duvet was great! Everything was taken care of - from the food to the transportation and flight up north. Furthermore, in comparison to the other horse riding tours I researched, the value for money here is great. Thanks for the incredible experience!
